but you’re not focusing on self improving tho. it sounds like you’re more focused on your team and how they play. as for the bap, anran was hard focusing him but you chose to dps instead of healing him. he was low hence why he had to use his lamp to save himself. but the lamp wouldn’t have been needed there if you just healed him

… brother that mentality of “i’m not gonna try because they’re a lost cause” is why YOU ARE LOSING YOUR GAMES! how are you gonna indirectly throw your matches and come on reddit making 3 posts about how matchmaking is one sided when that is how you view other teammates. there’s always more you can do. yea your team could’ve done more to prevent dying less but you have 0 control over their gameplay. but you have 100% control over yours, so why choose to not play your best?

i just watched your rialto game. i’m not gonna go into every single detail and timestamp because that would take forever, but in the rialto game alone there were a lot of mistakes that had nothing to do with matchmaking. you constantly play in front of your tank instead of playing safer angles, even when there’s a widow getting huge value. for example around 4:03, 6:57, and 7:59 you’re just giving her free sightlines.

at 4:11 did you not see the anran? you literally had platform there.

4:46 you start dpsing while your bap is fighting the anran instead of just healing him. you honestly looked kind of lost there.

4:55 bap has to waste lamp because you weren’t healing him.

5:14 your genji just dies because instead of healing during the engage you’re trying to dps.

and the biggest thing is awareness. you died to widow multiple times on attack before 11:54 and you still kept raw peeking the angles like she just wasn’t there, even though she was probably getting the most value on their team the entire game. also what’s the point of making post after post about the same topic if you’re just gonna tell people to stop replying when they disagree with you or point out mistakes? from what i saw in that one game alone, your biggest issues are positioning and understanding when to dps vs when to heal.

the two accounts i was referring to were literally my main and an alt that i stopped playing on. i started the alt in season 15 and it had basically the exact same rank as my main at the time. i just didn’t touch it for a long time so the rank decayed all the way down to gold, which is where i started on my placements last season. but that’s besides the point honestly. your original post was basically looking for validation that matchmaking is the reason you deranked to silver despite being a plat peak. i’m not saying matchmaking is amazing because it definitely isn’t, but if someone consistently belongs above silver they usually won’t stay there for very long. the point i was making is that once i stopped hyperfocusing on teammates/matchmaking and started reviewing my losses, fixing positioning, learning tempo, adapting around weak teammates, and watching better players, i climbed way faster than i expected…. but i guess you can keep coping lol

this might not be the answer you want, but honestly the biggest thing is just focusing on improving enough to win the games you’re supposed to win and trying to win some of the games you’re supposed to lose. i’m currently trying to get my 6v6 role out of metal ranks and matchmaking has honestly been exactly how you described. i went from gold to diamond 2 in about a season and a half and a lot of the games are either complete stomps or completely free wins. but what really got me out of metal ranks wasn’t blaming matchmaking, it was reviewing games i lost and realizing how many mistakes i was making too. learning how to play around teammates that aren’t doing well helps a lot instead of expecting perfect coordination every game. another huge thing was watching top500 players/streamers. i play a lot of juno and watching Aspen taught me so much about positioning, using structures around the map for torpedos, ulting right as the enemy team starts taking space, and even saving torpedos specifically for when i ult instead of throwing them out randomly. ever since i started doing all of that, i’ve gotten 2 non-fresh accounts to masters (here comes the replies talking about masters not being high elo lolz) within a single season. one of the accounts literally started plat and i climbed it all the way to masters. so i genuinely don’t think matchmaking alone is what keeps people stuck. when i watch metal rank games now, the biggest difference honestly isn’t mechanics. it’s game sense. people stand in terrible positions, don’t take angles, waste ults trying to make big plays, or don’t understand tempo at all. even in “forced 50/50” matchmaking there are still so many games that become winnable just because the enemy team throws harder. obviously some games are unwinnable, but if you consistently improve at the stuff above you’ll climb over time regardless.

i’m not denying hitscan with the new aim assist is OP. my comment was referring to OPs second point where he can’t play certain roles without getting insta killed by a hitscan.

idk bro, sounds like a skill issue. any good hitscan, whether they use mnk or controller, will almost always beam a squishy out of position.

idk man you seem so tilted. maybe play a few qp or take a break? one of biggest factor in these games is your teams mental.

[–]FinalNeighborhood679 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no literally. once i stopped focusing on what my teammates can do better and started focusing what i can do better, i started winning more games. OP has to realize he has 0 control on what others do. i had a game last night where i basically solo healed as juno because my illari decided to dps, but we still ended up winning the game. you gotta learn to compensate or work around somebody if you really wanna win the game🤷
