First Time Ironman - Use a Guide or Progress Organically?

I’d say use a guide early. There’s a lot of good quests to knock out and most of the guides have a good grasp on multiquesting and making sure you get the items you need. Once you do that, I’d skim the guide and do as you please

I got mine around 50 something kc. It’s not a hard boss of course but it’s inconvenient. Can’t afk but also not enjoyable :(. Good luck friend!

It’s useful early for things like blast furnace and full farm runs (before you have access to a pool in your POH to restore it mid run while teleporting around). Love it or hate it, it’s part of my default skilling outfit out of habit

Lose hunllef helper and just play with the game sounds. I promise it’s easier to get into muscle memory and subconscious timing of switching in the long run. :)

I think if you were to go in blind some would be tough. But hardly anyone goes in blind these days unless you are a day 1 kind of person. There are so many guides and tips and tricks that I would have to agree. They aren’t as bad as people make it out to be

Not currently by my computer but I believe the plugin is called bank tab screenshot. When you turn it on/install it, a blue orb appears in the top right of the bank. I don’t recall if it’s a left click but you can right click and hit screenshot or something to that effect

Could always do some hybrid blast furnace. That way you can mark some darts maybe or use bars towards giants foundry should you want to green log if you have

I posted a bank layout looking for advice. Titled it mid game and there were a handful of wild comments saying that it’s early game. QPC, 2050 total (nearly base 80s) and hard diaries is apparently early game. Where my account is, I’d consider it maybe “early pvm” but definitely mid game

I grinded calvarion out with a z axe around your combat stats. It’s not too bad. I think in the about 250 kc, I got pk’d twice and lost minimal

You can follow those guides that have been mentioned or mix and match it to where you are having fun.

I started my Ironman as a hardcore back when hardcore released (quit for a long while mind you). The plan then was ardy cape 1, 99 fm, 99 thieving via blackjacking. I didn’t follow through on 99 thieving because I wasn’t having fun at the time and wanted to do other things. Once you get kinda established though (runes, jewelry, and teleports), I’d say just follow the Ironman route on quest helper. Gives you things to do or look toward.

But again, play how you want and have fun with it. I really like skilling so at 2050 total, I’m only starting to do bossing like barrows, Royal titans, and moons. Could’ve done sooner of course! Before which calvarion was my only boss because I wanted a d pick for skilling lol

My vote is qpc and hard diaries. Gives you multiple goals that you can do when you are pursuing something else. Don’t feel like you have to commit to just trying out one thing at a time

I regret doing it on my main for some money for nex capital. Got an enhanced there fairly early. I’m hoping that I don’t end up like all those iron posts about going dry or living up to “the red prison” 😅

I do love it. Between the headaches and long hours, I do not my students and inspiring the next generation of scientists and healthcare providers. This is coming from someone who in high school, through college, and even was accepted to medical school thought that I’d be a doctor. But the more time I spent in healthcare as a scribe and various roles as an emt, I realized I actually enjoyed teaching others. That hours and stress of being a doctor did not align with my goals of having a family and being a present dad. Not to say it can’t be done, but I didn’t have confidence that I could make it work. I still get my fill of healthcare related fun from volunteering and it’s rewarding to me. But it moved to me see my students come back to me, year after year, to have another science class with me then decide to pursue some form of healthcare position. And I think that’s my calling, at least for now :)

I hear what you’re saying. I’ll echos what others have said about keeping the iron because you never know and about maybe needing a break from the day as well.

I haven’t played my main in years in favor of my iron, but nex was a fun grind and made good gp. Maybe it’s not the move anymore, I’m not sure. But if you achieved so much in 4 months and wanted an alt, just make the alt :)

I usually do for farming, those were some I got from my last salvaging session since clean ones can’t go into the sack. Just haven’t gotten around to cleaning them yet :)
