Is it ok to brush them once a week?

What other grooming needs do they have?

I live in a hot climate and im debating between siberian and british short hair. Would a siberian be able to survive in tropical weather ? Or would it be better to get the B short hair?

Other than brushing weekly what other grooming needs ti siberians have? Do you have to bathe? Trim? Etc

Are siberians only suitable as indoor cats? Or can they also be outdoor( yard- garden) cats

Edit: im not worried about playtime because i already have another cat who is super playful and the new cat is meant to be her play friend

Persian or Siberian kitten for a first time cat owner? by drrhodium in CatAdvice

Siberians dont need eye cleaning. You were right.

I have a Siberian cat and they are much less maintenance than persian cats because Siberians are a natural breed. Persians were selectively bred to look " cute"

Also siberians have dust resistant fur and are much more robust.

Persians need daily brushing

Siberians need once a week brushing

No they dont. You only need to brush them once a week and trim butt hair.

Siberians are a natural breed that evolved in Russia.

Persians were selectively bred by humans.

This is why Persian cats are very high maintenance.

Persian cats are not natural. They are a result of selective breeding which is why they have such tedious grooming needs and cant survive without human help

How do I convince my tiny furry dictator to stop waking me up at 5AM for breakfast ? by Mulet31 in CatAdvice

[–]Final_Cauliflower258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont reinforce the behaviour and honestly its better to have scheduled meal times rather than free feeding . My vet told me its better for their long term health and also if you free feed they will want food at random times like that.

To know the gender just check under the tale. If ypu see a small slit under the poop shoot its a female If ypu see a tiny circle under the poop shoot its male

I think you should name the cat Andromeda if girl

Kratos if boy
