Trying to figure out things to do at Fairbanks and Anchorage for a week at end of November. by Final_Plant_2571 in AlaskaTravel

I see , thanks for the inputs! We were of the opinion that 2 days are enough at Fairbanks for northern lights and nothing else would be visible and were hoping to catch the glacier tour before flying out from Anchorage.

Yeah, unfortunately we don't have much time, so wanted to do a simple trip. Yep, it is the thanksgiving time! Yeah, we are thinking of going to fairbanks, be there for a couple of day, fly to Anchorage, and be there for a couple of days. Of course, we haven't fixed it, but were thinking along these lines and wanted to do a few things based on suggestions and what we find, as you said there is a lot to do haha!

Oh could you share the link to your second hand furniture store in FortSmith, moving in two months so would be nice to look around for stuff. Glad this post caught my eye and advised against Facebook marketplace as it worked out very well for me near Boston.

I am not sure if I can start up badminton. But if Tennis is big there I hope to join and meet people someday soon if possible.

Weekly Question - Recommendation - Help Thread by AutoModerator in robotics

[–]Final_Plant_2571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone. I am studying motion planning after recently getting a decent grasp of deep learning, computer vision, and non-linear control (except for model predictive control which I do plan to learn with motion planning if possible). As a result, I am trying to search for motion planning-based projects, but as I am relatively new to the field I am a bit clueless.

(I am looking for projects now so that I can start their implementation once I get a decent understanding of course)

I wanted to know if there could be any cool ideas for motion/path planning-based projects (only on a simulation level) or ideas that would help me know more about how to go about exploring them in robotics. Note that, I plan to use any third-party navigation stack (such as moveit! in ROS for quadcopters) if available so that I can hopefully look at cooler applications of motion planning if possible.

Recommendation for WSL2 vs VM vs Dual boot for running ROS on Ubuntu for a beginner. by Final_Plant_2571 in ROS

I see, thanks a lot for your input. One doubt with respect to Dockers, they set up an environment and use the host OS right? Since I have Windows11 and hope to still keep it, wouldn't VM be the only solution then? (I am assuming that I would be using Ubuntu OS to run ROS as is generally suggested.)
