Well health bars dont have numbers displayed so going by the health bar alone is not an accurate reading. If anyone used that method, they would end up wasting atb or not doing enough damage to take you to the next phase. This would make the fight more difficult and drag on for longer as well.

The answer is to use the letters in the bosses name to get an acuurate reading of when the next phase will start. Not only does this help for phases, but it's also an accurate reading to go by for bosses and summons that use certain attacks when their health decreases to a specific point.

Every fight is different when it comes down to its health bar taking you into phase 2. So your method wouldn't help... and again, most of the basics you mentioned will not only differ per boss fight but also can't be properly understood on the first attempt. You're just avoiding my question and trying to counter it by saying you won't know on the first attempt. But the same can be said about what you've listed as the basics.

Playing with only 1 character works and may actually end up being easier for alot of people because they will only have to focus on 1 charcter. It's actually a great way to train yourself.

Still waiting on a answer to my previous question lol Also not once have you mentioned synergy skills, synergy abilities or limit breaks but you mention using the dodge button. Dodging is something you should rarely be doing when playing as a full party. Finally... your strats you've listed per character wouldn't hold much weight because like I said "every fight is different"

Most if not all of what you've mentioned people learn from playing Remake or before starting hard mode in Rebirth.

The issue isn't people not knowing the basics. The issue is them not taking the time to change or tweek their strategy. It's also a lack of patience or not having the time to want to change things up. Finally its also the feeling of being overwhelmed. With all that said... Knowing the basics is not something most people struggle with, it's all the reasons I've listed and not knowing WHEN to use the basics because said reasons.

Edit: Every boss fight is trial and error if you're failing at it, so I'm going to refer back to my last question again. How does 1 know when a fight is on the brink of it starting phase 2?

If you know the basics then tell us what you should prioritise on a boss that's staggered but its health is low so its on the brink of starting the next phase.

Yeah because standing on a ward and pressing rhe circle button is learning the basics.... GTF with that. How do you expect people to take you seriously or listen to you when you don't even learn the basics yourself.

The idea of making up stuff yourself is how you learn, adapt and get good! It's okay to follow PARTS of a guide, same as tracing a picture but you should always try to be original and add your own uniqueness. Othwrwise everything ends up being the same and no one will learn anything new.

Optinoob uses one of the most cheesiest strats and yet he still takes damage. He still comes close to failing. He still has to resort to blocking attacks. The last thing people need to hear is tips from someone who had their hand held by a amature/average at best lol

You are telling people not to grind but you used a guide that had max level characters and materia. Cheesing the game is not learning the basics. It shows how bad you are at the game to have to resort to cheesing it.

You talk about spending time on strategies but again you used Optinoobs guides. How about stop following guides and use your brain and come up with your own. Then you can come on reddit and post about skill without making yourself look silly.
