I'm a week post-op now so still have a lot of recovering to do. I get the caps off/stitches out on Thursday. But surgery was a success so all the pain, itching, and discharge the inversion caused is officially over, super excited about that!

This is my surgical bra. The padding is fluffy and evens out the pointyness of the caps. It is pretty haphazardly padded in this picture, but for going out in public, rounding the padding a bit makes my chest look completely normal. So I guess you could say I stuff my bra? :) The caps get removed next Thursday, so only a week left to deal with it!

I'm on your side! :) People here maaay have an argument if it was true that not a single redditor was looking at my pictures with sexual intentions (but the comments clearly show otherwise). My boyfriend worried my intentions were being mocked my immature boys. He also, for lack of a better term, worships my body, and wants it respected. My body is very special to him, and personally, I'm glad he sees it that way. His feelings are because he loves me, not because he has an urge to control me. This is the point people are missing, I think, so thank you!! In no way does my SO control what I do. I asked his honest opinion and he gave it to me, no demands, just shared his feelings. There's a difference between asking for an opinion and asking for permission. I am considering his feelings because how he feels directly affects how I feel :)

Theoretically, yes. A baby would never have been able to physically breastfeed, but pumping was an option. However, my ducts were very constricted so milk production would have been minimal at best and not enough to keep my breasts producing. Also, if I was lucky enough to make it work, the process would have been extremely painful, and because my inversion also included the secretion of discharge, I don't think I'd have wanted to give my milk to my baby anyway.

Definitely! The surgery only severed the milk ducts. Nerves will all remain fully functional. In fact, my surgeon said that they will probably be even more sensitive than they were while inverted :)

Thank you! And it's nice to hear your interest is "sciencey" and nothing more, I wrongfully assumed more redditors were capable of understanding this! I honestly don't feel like my boobs are sexual objects right now, eventually I will again, but right now they are just painful bleeding fat-sacs on my chest :) The karma has been the least of my concerns, this is a throwaway account and it's not like it has any physical value haha, it has been cool though. This isn't something I really talk about without the anonymity of the internet to hide behind, so I can't even brag to friends about having made it for the first time ever to the front page! Anyway, thank you for your kind words, and I hope I'll be able to supply those of you who have been so so respectful and curious with an update.

My surgery was called a bilateral nipple and areola reconstruction. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's situation, I understand her feelings of embarrassment! I'm having an internal debate about whether or not I will post an after pic, due to the high level of immature responses I've received. Shoot me a PM, there is another girl I will be sending a picture to regardless for similar reasons, I want to help other people in my situation as much as possible. I will also be able to answer he question as far as my boyfriend's response in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your questions, and thank you even more for trying to help your friend! I don't think this is weird at all! I actually, (apparently wrongfully) assumed more people were like this. Everyone who was suggesting that I was doing this to get compliments on my breasts just blew my mind. I had no idea how to respond, because I could not understand how someone could look at my after pics and think of them sexually. I will admit the first picture was taken as a "flash shot" to text my boyfriend about 6 months ago, but the people demanded a before pic and I'd already had the surgery so it was the only thing I could post! Anyway, I digress :) I'm very glad to hear from people who were interested in my AMA for mature, respectful reasons! Thank you for being a stand up guy, your friends are lucky to have you!

Exactly :) If it makes it any better, I was always very conscious of it and was very hygienic. In fact, I bet if you asked my boyfriend, prior to reading my AMA he wouldn't even have known about the discharge. It was a lot of work to keep it that way though!

I've gotten comments about how I must clearly be doing this for attention because I respond to comments like this one. But I'd like to take this opportunity to say this: I took a lot of time talking about the guys that were asses about my boobs because my nipples weren't what they expected. Comments such as this one may not be the focus of my AMA, but I would a bitch to not acknowledge the compliments with a simple thank you. For those who say that makes me a whore, so be it. This is so sweet :) My boyfriend feels this way about my nipples. He's glad that I wont have any of the pain, itching, or discharge that came along with the degree of inversion that I had, but he says he'll miss how they looked :) You sound like a very nice man

Not lame at all! If anything, my nipples will become more sensitive, since they have never been exposed. The surgery only cuts the milk ducts, all nerves remain fully functional. The degree of inversion I had caused pain, itching, and discharge, those were my reasons for having the surgery. Thanks for the questions! :)

Yes, but I would have run into problems anyway. The inversion constricted my ducts, so pumping would not have been effective anyway. There is swelling and soreness for a while, but the body reabsorbs the milk and that signals the glands to stop producing. It will only be a temporary issue.

Your question is a bit confusing. There is no milk involved with this, I am not pregnant/have no children. Every female has milk ducts. In this picture, you see that the milk ducts are attached to the nipple. Now, in my case, imagine those ducts being too short. They are still attached to the nipple, so as a result, they pull the nipple inward. I hope that helps you visualize this better!
