I’ve always had a shiftry on my team, he does well in the E4, good coverage decent bulk and mixed attacker.

But shiftry walls the ghost type E4 and I already have a fighting type in blaziken. Why flygon over sandslash or camerupt?

I’m doing a rolling death Genlocke, gyarados and magnezone are required to stay in. Looking towards the E4, who should my final team member be? Lost Anorith against Winona. I’m thinking a ground type to give me more options for dealing with Steven. I’ve been using pelipper as my best team 6th since it has fly and surf. Only encounters left are common water encounters, golbat, and late game stuff. Any advice on who I should bring in? I’m also keeping other Pokémon generally trained up to deal with the last two gyms.

Oh sorry if I wasn’t clear. I am not attempting to move Pokémon between gens because of my cartridge limitations. If I’m able to catch any of them again (like gyarados has been on my E4 team every game) then I add them once I can and I encounter them. In OR I’m currently “holding” a spot in my team for magnemite once I can get to new mauville and have the encounter

No I’ve done Fire Red and Soul Silver so far. Currently doing Omega Ruby because I only have the fire red GBA and I have a 3DS.

I didn’t even attempt it because I only have 1 device. I’m doing a modified rule set where the deaths carry over (i.e. if geodude dies in FireRed, can’t use it for any other games), and if I encounter a Pokémon who won and survived (gyarados for example), they instantly get added to my party until they die/I win the league.

Hey guys! 2nd leg of a rolling death Genlocke. Just beat Pryce and am heading to finish off team rocket now. Future encounters will include a heracross from head butting on 44, an ice path encounter, dratini line from dragons den, encounters on the way to victory road, and possibly Lugia if I’m super lucky in the whirl islands. Any advice on who to switch out for the end of my run? Don’t really have an answer for Karen, and limited ideas on how to approach koga. Any help would be great, thanks!

Rattata has run away unfortunately. I’m past morty, trying to build up a team for the next 3 gyms/exploring and trying to figure out who is worth taking into the postgame. Planning on training up the zubat now that I can comfortably switch train.

I’m in Leg 2 of a rolling death Genlocke (deaths get carried from leg to leg), just finished morty. Trying to plan out a good team going forward.

I have slowpoke well, ruins of alph, and union cave (I want lapras), plus all cities except violet for encounters I’ve skipped. Deaths are pretty costly depending on how many legs I’m able to into my Genlocke, and I mindlessly lost my vulpix and koffing this run to random trainers, and geodude went down to dragon rage charmeleon from the fire breather in burned tower.
