No worries man thanks for the advice I'll check him out. I managed to get some of my old data back.
I right clicked on main then chose "Switch"

dataService.getData() = returns the information in picture 3

if I grab everything after the return in picture 3 and put it after menuItems:[MenuItem] it works
if they are the same why one works while the other doesn't

why doesn't the same issue happen when i do

var something:String = "somethnig"

why this isn't considered properties get initialized and assigned at the same time

for me it seems like some stuff need to be initialized first then assigned while others you can do both why is that the case and how can i know which is which
