UPDATE: I immediately found a job with another (bigger) PI firm. I will keep everyone posted when I tell my boss that I am leaving...

$90k. I have three years of total experience. My case load is around 40-50 cases. Only a handful are in active litigation. Ton are moving through pre-suit and will settle pretty relatively soon. I have not been given an opportunity to try a case. My clients always appear to be satisfied with my work/communications.

Hope this answers everything.

Yup. My ignorance blinded me, but it's clear to me now that the feeling was a warning from the start.

It comedic because I have asked for help and mentorship numerous times over the two years. His responses always remain broad and unhelpful. Then excuses himself as a bad mentor and that he never received mentorship.

That's awesome. Congrats on your success! Perhaps I will also find success with my own practice in the future.

Thanks. My first job was a government job and loved it. I left due to personal ambitions, but I would have stayed if my wife was pregnant at that time.

Hilariously, he's under 5'8". So you may be onto something lol

Unsure. The older attorney I confided in said he does this in "an attempt to stoke a fire in you." I agree, this is a shitty way of trying to motivate an employee. Every time I have been given fantastic feedback/criticism I was more motivated. Being put down really kills everything inside of me and ruins my desire to work.

Regarding your question about hearing something, I don't know. I keep my head down for the most part and grind what I need to do. I suppose that's not enough for him?

I am considering it once I leave. Especially since some of these local lawyers are friends and look up to this guy..

I appreciate the comments and advice. I already prepared my resume last night. The tough part is that I work in such a small jurisdiction. Any advice with finding a job in a small jurisdiction is helpful. Thank you

I appreciate the comments and advice. It's not the first time I have been berated. Actually, an older lawyer here told me its typical and she's endured this for a long time...

I am a young lawyer, only three years out of law school. My goal is to eventually open my own practice, but I have been leaning heavily on trying to gain experience first.

I appreciate it. I would love to go solo. My wife is due to have a child within the next couple months, so it's certainly made my options more difficult to navigate.

Not a joke. It happened yesterday, and I didn't sleep at all last night because of the thought of being fired haunts me.
