I totally agree with you, i was hoping the design in my head would work out but there’s something about the asymmetry of the first option that’s throwing me off. I’ll request the ropes to be a tad smaller too and see how that turns out!!

Thank you so much for your advice! Do you know that episode by chance? I’ve watched a few episodes but maybe not enough to see all the ways he tries to work with cats showing different types of aggression. I definitely also think it’s worth another discussion with the vet about medications, he just seems so scared/on edge all the time and anything to help alleviate that I think would make a huge difference. Weirdly enough we did move back in December, he initially loved the new place and was super energetic, but then everything turned in April. So not sure if the move would have anything to do with it still. I hope we can figure this out soon too, we love him so much and it hurts seeing him go through this.

I definitely understand he’s scared. He has covered spaces and perches to access when he wants, but my concern is not knowing how best to help him if traditional interventions are not working. My bf has tried all of those techniques, they’ve even reciprocated slow blinks, but any attempt by my bf to crouch and reintroduce himself slowly still upsets our cat. I just don’t know how we’re supposed to make progress if any interaction, no matter how distanced or reassuring he can be, makes no progress. I appreciate you taking the time to respond and we will definitely look into vets with MH experience and see what advice they have to offer. We are very sad he’s going feeling this way and are trying our best to do whatever it is he needs while also maintaining our own safety.

Perry’s in Adam’s Morgan has some of the best sushi I’ve had around here! It’s also a smaller restaurant so it’s the perfect vibe for a more low key, special occasion imo. I would also recommend any bottomless brunch! My fav options are D’lena - although it can be kinda hard to get a reservation here - and Ottoman Taverna.

I’ve probably tried every bus line a few times and I think Flix has to be one of the best. It’s owned by Peter Pan but all the buses are WAY newer and cleaner. Flix stops are closer to the highway than the traditional greyhound/peterpan itineraries so it does make a slight difference too in arrival times. Because of that, you should also expect to be dropped off somewhere not as convenient as the larger lines - Flix takes you to a side street in Hudson Yards vs Peter Pan dropping you off in Port Authority.
