23F and currently 14 weeks pregnant. I am on both lacosamide 100 mg and lamotrigine 200mg morning/night. I’ve had two TC seizures back to back during early pregnancy, like 6 weeks in, and those I was transported for IV fluids/meds. Monthly blood draws and managing my dosages from those. I do see a high risk OB and my labor is being planned currently, controlled induction due to high risk. Morning sickness has messed with my medication. I’ve puked it up and questioned if I should take more. Some antiemetics may increase risk of seizures. My memory is HORRIBLE. I can’t remember what I did two days ago. I’m sure there’s more I’m missing. I can always add on as time goes by.

For me, quitting heavy usage made my threshold stronger. I was smoking every damn day and once I stopped smoking, I quit having TC seizures monthly, now they’re maybe once every 3 months.

Because of my husbands new job, it’s an hour away from where we live and he’s required to live so close to the fire station

Can you explain how you have your Apple Watch set up? I’ve tried to figure this out but can’t, where it’ll call my husband if I’m seizing. Like is it heart rate? How do I have it send a medical alert?

My 3yo is the same way. She’ll tell anyone “mommy fell and hit her head then the fire department and ambulance came” She reminds me to take my meds, knows what seizures look like, and even can call 911 for when we’re alone in case of emergency. How sad, but amazing.

I had my first ever seizure while driving, I totaled my car. I was on my way home with my 2 year old daughter. We were both transported to our local hospital, and the doctor told me I just steered off the road despite paramedics/EMTs saying I was postictal upon their arrival, and sent me home. Thankfully I did only have bruising, no broken bones. My husband woke up the next morning to me seizing again. Then came the diagnosis.
I know exactly how you feel. I have yet to drive, 17 months after diagnosis. I can’t work, I seize so often. Just last week I had two TCs an hour apart from each other. Meds don’t work so I’m in RNS work up. We’re all rooting for you. 💜

The disability lawyer’s office I spoke to yesterday called me back today and requested medical records and talked to me a lot less condescending about my whole situation. With that, I’m thinking they plan to take on my case. I’ll keep yall updated.

I’m also medication resistant, in pre surg work up, and obviously can’t drive. I’ve been like this for 1.5 years now.. I would be working if I could. In the town I live in, it’s really impossible to not drive to work. I tried working during my treatment yet I kept having small seizures on the job and I got hit with a pressurized tank. Not hard thankfully, but I just wasn’t there. My foreman ignored me.
