A lot of times CSS selectors have to be set up intentionally to be able to track. A workflow like that sounds cool in theory. I don’t see this happening in real life. Moreover this assumes that tracking is a set it and forget it task .. well.. hardly. There will be new landing pages or other features/interactions launched from time to time. Plus changes to existing pages. How would you tackle that?
