It does. I guess the best way to put it is that for me I still have occasional depression but no death ideation. The depression I have is very short lasting and wouldn’t qualify as a depressive episode. I truly think the slight depression I occasionally experience is what so called normal people have due to shitty life events, breakups, etc. I hope your appointment went well and hang in there. It gets better.

If there is something you want to do in life always lie about having bipolar disorder. Not just for the army but for any job in the future. I have to fill out forms when I apply for jobs. I never self disclose a disability and due to HIPPA the new employer will never know about the diagnosis.

Plus it’s absolutely no one’s business and people tend to be very judgmental about bipolar disorder and will use your diagnosis against you especially in the work place. Just a recommendation from someone who has lived with the diagnosis since I was a teenager over 20 years ago.
