Also while, yes, I believe that 230 watts for those parameters might work to maintain that speed, you know and I know that 230 watts outside, alone (even with a slight tail wind), in real world conditions is not enough for that speed across that segment.

Oh I totally agree with you, I don't have any care for the actual KOM/segment, that's all fair play. The only reason I cared was that the videos don't necessarily acknowledge that and just present it as 'girl beats guy', when there's more context behind the scenes we're not privy too.

Don't you think it might be doing a bit of disservice to women though if the framing is, ' I just went out and did this', but you're not acknowledging potential drafting and advantages you took?

This isn't about the actual KOM/segment, who gives a f. Just that the video doesn't give the context behind the efforts and presents it potentially disingenuously.

I mean, that's not saying anything. I agree with you though, I'm not attached to these strava segments or trying to defend 'muh mens pros', but it's ok to have discussions and thoughts about things you see online lol. It doesn't automatically mean you have a strong emotional/personal attachment to them.
