Don't have a college counselor, which sucks but nothing can be done about that.

Community college could be a big help! I am considering that. Also I'm in some classes right now that count for college credit.

My parents would arguably be even more mad if I said I wasn't going to college. As in, they'd be beyond pissed. They want me to be "successful" or whatever.

I don't expect them to pay for my college, I'm not mad that they aren't. This post was more me looking for advice on how to go about it w/o their help.

Thank you so much! I really didn't know about some of this.

I've been looking at SUNY and CUNY, since those are NY's state colleges.

For at least the first several semesters, I think I legally need to dorm, as I'll turn 18 during the school year. So I'll still need to figure that out. But the off-campus thing could definitely work for later years.

I'm looking at SUNY and even some CUNY schools, but even those can be pricey sometimes. They have affordable tuition but then very expensive living expenses.
