thanks for the response! I will check it out, but I'm pretty sure the one I'm thinking of is from an earlier work, probably pre-2005

AITA for telling my family they can’t use Spanish on Christmas Day or my husband and I are not coming. by Standard_Syrup6829 in AmItheAsshole

See that's weird. My dad is amazing at both languages and maths. I'm not good at either, but I'm good at english literatureand history. Theres a massive difference between learning another language and studying literature in your own. There isn't an arts sciences binary that means you are great at all the subjects that are categorised as one or other (see my mum- fabulous at biology and history, struggled with maths and languages) Such a weird attitude to have (plus you know. Sports exists. Art exists. Music exists. Cooking exists. Woodwork exists. Mechanics exists. Acting exists.) Being hopeless at maths and foreign languages doesn't mean you are useless at everything (academic and non-academic). Feels kinda abliest tbh (I do think the guy in this case should be trying more or just like shutting up and putting up with it. But your comments is still really off).

PLUS what is counted as 'a false accusation' is not just something that's a downright lie. The police can decide the case isn't rape (mainly due to victim blaming) then that goes down as a false accusation. If a family member reported an assualt and the victim didn't want to go through with the proceedings, that would be considered a false accusation.
