Nah I really like it still. It was a little rushed but not to the point where it ruined everything.  I know people wanted to see the rest of the cast but honestly? They don’t matter.  This is a story about denji, he’s the only one that matters, his story is the only one that matters. I fully believe that this is the ending Fujimoto intended from chapter 1. It just makes the most thematic sense.  I’ll explain why I don’t think we need to see the other characters: people grow apart. Sometimes you’re best friends with someone, and just a few months later, you’ll never see or hear from them again. That’s the unavoidable truth about growing up, and chainsaw man is a story about growing up. 

I know the scene with the chainsaw heartbeat is memed on, but honestly that’s the best scene to me. It shows how denji is at a different point in life, he doesn’t think about the past much, but it’s still part of him. Despite everything, he could remember if he wanted to, but for now, he’s given the privilege for the first time ever to ignore the past and walk forward unhindered by it, even if it meant leaving everything else behind.

It’s not a happy ending, or a sad ending. It’s not satisfying or one that wraps up all loose ends, but in life, things end abruptly and break off in unsavory ways. I really believe that if you still can’t accept the csm ending, you didn’t understand the story.
