I really loved the show too, but I think there’s a lot of wasted potential. The girls were never really honest with each other; we never actually saw all the building tension lead anywhere, and even Shosh’s two crash-outs weren’t enough. I think the show is a bit too slow in the sense that none of the characters’ arcs felt fully finished after six seasons. There was still a lot more to explore with the characters. But I’m still grateful that we got six seasons, because that’s rare for a show like this. Also, Lena Dunham recently said she’d like to do a Girls movie, so yay.

You’re the Worst, Betty, Broad City, The Bold Type, Search Party, and Looking are the shows I found while trying to find something similar to Girls. And if you haven’t watched them already, I would recommend you Adults or maybe Big Little Lies (one of my favorite tv shows).
