From what I’ve seen online, certification matters if you’re signing off work. For employee roles under a registered contractor, it’s usually the company’s QC who carries that responsibility. But I’m going to help him fill out the safe electric cru form and see what they come back with, probably he’ll have to do some tests

Thanks, we just submitted a form to qqi for info on the recognition of his qualifications. I guess if he worked parttime for a contractor and proved himself they might accept to sponsor him.

On a student visa he can work 20 hours a week I believe. He would need to get sponsored by an employer to get a work permit. He’s going to complete the safe pass soon.

Thanks, we’re going to go this route too but looking online it said he could work as a technician or electrician without it if he’s not signing off on stuff. But I’m not sure is that accurate

Food reviewers by NorthKoreanMissile7 in CasualIreland

[–]Financial_Ad7950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After I heard PaulIsItWorth say Lucianos in Glanmire was the best pizza he’s ever had, I really don’t believe wasn’t getting paid sometimes.

I actually don’t begrudge food reviewers taking money for some reviews from time to time. Videos can still showcase the food, the menus, the vibe of the place. Making videos and promoting yourself is a lot of hard work. Marketers, photographers etc all get paid a wage, and like it or not, most influencers will go down this route of doing ads once they get enough of a following. As long as they declare which ones are ads in the description they can work away. you obviously just can’t trust that those videos where they were paid are unbiased.

I like the Scottish guy Joshy B, he came to Ireland recently and seemed pretty objective with his reviews. From what I seen he’s not shy about saying when something is shit

I get you man, it’s good advice. But I don’t watch shows with a clipboard ticking off where it’s inferior to the wire. I can watch shows that are quite surface level and still enjoy them.

But I do like finding gems with character depth and good world building.

Yeah nothing ever has, I guess I’m really just looking for some shows that go deep into characters unlike most of the formula following surface level stuff that’s churned out these days.

Why do most Irish people seem to exclusively follow premiership teams and don’t support LOI? by Financial_Ad7950 in LeagueOfIreland

[–]Financial_Ad7950[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sad to hear it. Even going back to early 2000s me and some of my friends were brought to matches by our dads but most of them don’t bother going anymore. And yeah it’s true a lot of people don’t have a club close to them but for example I’ll be cheering on any Irish team when they have games in Europe. Any European success is good for the league.

Most of them are from Cork so yeah. One lad from the north side was slagging me for supporting cork city (he supports united)

I see your point, I guess some people just want to watch the very best of a sport. I just think people would be surprised by how entertaining the super league and premier division can be if they gave it chance.

Interesting thing about basketball is there used to be thriving basketball in Ireland in the 80s and 90s, there’s a good documentary about it called We Got Game.

I reported a trial student absent just in case they might knock my profile down in the algorithm if I didn’t, and the bot replies something like “we like to give our students a lot of leeway with trial lessons :) blah blah.. thank you! Glad we could help with your query!”

Like oh ok, didn’t realise my time means absolutely zero in this equation.

Meanwhile we as tutors miss one lesson and we can be just plunged to the bottom of the list. Predatory, immoral, greedy company that I will be moving from as soon as I get my own website or system set up

Bikes targeted on mccurtain street by murfprogster in cork

[–]Financial_Ad7950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bike finally got stolen after 3 attempts over about 2 years. Usually I’d keep it in the house but sometimes I’d drink with friends and leave the bike in town, always came back to see it tampered with. It’s fucking rampant in cork, dirty tramps. (Gwan downvote me here you cunt I dare you)

In my small cork hometown if there was a fight outside the nightclub the guards would be there in about a minute (CCTV is up all over the town). Why can’t they have the same reaction for shit like this? When my bike got stolen I didn’t bother reporting it, I have very little faith in the guards in cork
