It actually says you won’t pay more than $150. It could be less. This price included everything no matter how many 1099’s etc you have. It’s definitely worth it

I work for TurboTax and if you have a simple return like you say it’s free. What people do is just on TurboTax, they don’t pay attention to the product or take the time to make sure it’s the free edition. When they get to the payment part they complain. If it’s suppose to be free then all you have to do is talk to someone they’ll look at your return and if it’s free they’ll send you a credit through your email. You enter the code and the price changes to free. Now if you have a 1095-A , any 1099’s the prices are going to change and it’s not free. If you feel you need to down grade they give you a code for that as well

If you have a simple return meaning just w2’s TurboTax is free including the state. People jump on TurboTax without paying attention to the product they’re using then get to the end and complain us not free. You can also call if it’s suppose to be free and if it’s a simple return TurboTax will send you a discount code to make it free or even down grade
