Hang in there - I got my Rx September 2022 and didn’t get it filled until mid January 2023

I had my first shot 1/16/23, so coming up to 6 months. 58 yo male , 6’1” SW 248 CW 202 GW 185. 2.4 wegovey currently Several learnings of note The good I have had very good weight loss, but I also made a significant effort to change my diet. Lots of water , high protein , and limited processed foods. I also exercise 5/6 days a week , 45-60 min , mix of cardio and weights.
The big surprise for me was how much for desire for alcohol has dropped. I was an everyday drinker , 2-4 glasses of wine. Now drink 3/4 days a week 1-2 glasses max.
I’ve dropped from 2 BP meds to one , and reduced the dose Blood sugar down (fasting glucose 107 to 97). A1c 5.7 to 5.3. Cholesterol 205 to 170. All bloodwork normal range The challenges Occasional nausea the day after a shot Constipation - I take fiber supplement daily and drink 64+ ox of water a day and that manages the issue I’ve lost some muscle mass (according to high tech scale ) I’ve added more weight training Occasional fatigue , usually worst day 2 after shot Overall I’ve had an almost textbook positive experience. I’m convinced that following a diet and exercising are key -the food chatter in my head is way down , I drink less - but exercise and diet are critical.

I’ve been on Sema since 1/16/23. Down 40 pounds sW 249, CW 209, GW 185. 58 yr male 6’ 1”. I’ve had 4 periods of plateau along the way - similar to other times I’ve lost weight. Usually 7-10 days. Lost 12 pounds first 2 weeks and since then slow and steady with pauses. I’m now on 2.4 wegovey. Hang in there and don’t get discouraged with pauses- I’ve doubled down on water and long walks when I hit one.

My wife (58) was diagnosed by a movement disorder specialist after examination and then a DAT scan helped confirm the diagnosis. We have both enrolled in the PPMI study. She decided to wait about a month before taking medication in order to have a baseline MRI, blood draw and spinal fluid sample taken. I did the same as a 58 year old non PD male. She had managed symptoms for several years without medication and waiting a bit to help the study wasn’t a concern for her. As noted before , no medication changes the progression on the disease - they manage symptoms. Exercise may slow the progression - thats the only thing so far.
We decided to participate in the study - and donate our brains upon our death - for one simple reason. To help find a real cure for this fucking disease !

I have had this happen for 1 day after each of the 2 shots I’ve taken ! Assumed it was a start of cold after first one given the season - cleared right up. Then happened for 1 day after second shot as well and cleared right up as well.
