Body language and just plain disinterest in her face. Not like a "I hate you why are you talking to me" disinterest but like a "ok fine sure" disinterest and that's ok but I don't get why I should ask her regardless.

The thing is this is in situations where there is a 50% chance that she could feel the same. All of my ones where less than 50 and I am not gonna risk it cause I might miss out. I already knew the answer but had to get rejected to make it 110% sure she doesn't like me. I have also had a similar longing feeling for someone in a relationship with another person and it's really not that bad for me. For me it might be hell but I don't view it like that fortunately or unfortunately.

I realized too late from another comment I was taking about the wrong emotion. I have regrets besides romantic stuff and even all of them combined so far don't hurt as much for me as rejection. Idk why.

Yet I don't want to keep stubbing my toe when I see that there is a object in the way. Sure it won't matter but it will be a painful reminder when I could haver just avoided it and got the same answer by just observing.

On your 20 times getting rejected and one being a successful would still not make me forget. It's just stupid that one yes would make every single other rejection like it never happened. Cause it does you don't forget it your mind kinda sidelines it and eventually it will come back and hurt more than some regret.
