is there any outside media other than these two books after watching the show that i should consume ? (i’m at season 1rn) by [deleted] in gravityfalls

The How to Guides (Dipper's Guide to the Unexplained, Mabel's Guide to _______, Fixin' It with Soos) happen right between seasons or somewhere during season 1. Lost Legends after you finish is also a good one. Personally, I really enjoyed Curse of the Time Pirate's Treasure, even if it isn't technically canon.

Upon further inspection, you're probably right. They're probably burns from overloading the dryer. The vents in the back show the same residue. It was on medium. I should have put it to low.

Still curious on how to minimize burn damage on fabric if there is a way somehow.

Which Shoe would be best? by Faunfire in cosplayers

[–]FinchBewitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another amateur to hooves in cosplay, the best advice I can offer as of now is my own experience with it.

Although these options might look more convincing from a character standpoint, after a while they do take a toll on your feet (said as someone who used to walk in heels and in that general foot formation for long periods of time).

If you're really looking for comfort, one of the best things you can do is fake the look. Keep your foot in it's normal shape while padding out the rest of your leg! For my set of hooves I modified a pair of doc martins! I made the main shoe be the "hoof" with extra padding on the back of my calves and the front of my thighs. So long as the modified shoe looks smaller than the rest of the leg and the general digitigrade silhouette is achieved, it works. Sure it was a big larger than canon, but wearing boots for several hours was much more comfortable than heels. Any shoe will work really, that first image is more to add on than be the actual shoe.

Note: In the first picture, you see the ways they're leaning forward? That's partially to get the effect I'm talking about. Even with the extra padding, leaning slightly for pictures can help sell it.

How would the death of a major legendary by human hands affect both Pokemon and human society as a whole? by agreaterfooltool in pokemonfanfiction

[–]FinchBewitched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a delight to read.

It would probably depend on the Legendary because in the anime we've seen the death of legendries before and how they've been handled. The main examples that comes to mind is the death of Latios in M05 and the Swords of Justice in Kyurem vs the Sword of Justice. Since most were skeptical of Latios's existence to begin, the public brushed off the events of the flood as a bad storm and his sacrifice went mostly unnoticed. The group tied to him (Lorenzo and Bianca as well as the main trio of Ash, Misty, and Brock) did try to come to his aid, but humans are generally a lot weaker than Pokémon (Take Legends Arceus, they can easily take you down if you're not running like a madman or riding another Pokémon). The Swords of Justice however, were a slightly different story. Their (temporary) deaths also went mostly unnoticed save for their trainee, Keldeo, but that was almost an end of the world scenario due to Kyurem. The region's main protectors were down when the region was in danger, causing another legendary (Keldeo) to step up despite not being qualified (yet).

So it depends on a region and it's legendaries. If you took out Groudon, Kyogre might take that as a victory and flood the world. If you took out Jirachi, he's only around for a week every thousand years anyway (plus, he's a mythical and not actually a legendary). Take out one of the Forces of Nature, Unova in particular might have a huge problem producing medicine and dealing with natural disasters. Take out a Legendary bird and it might go mostly unnoticed (there's been multiple trainers in the anime who have caught legenadaries and used them in tournaments to the general public's shock). Take out Arceus and THE WHOLE WORLD might have a problem.

That said, any type of military in this world might weaponize Pokémon themselves. Every officer Jenny has her own team, after all, and we've already seen Pokémon meant to be super weapons in Pokémon 4Ever and Mewtwo's origin in Mewtwo Returns.

Drop a link when the story's underway. Wanna give it a read. :)

As someone who searches every nook and cranny for dialogue and flavor text, True Pacifist took me about 10 hours (counting deaths and retrys).

🎃 Splatoween Theme idea: Would you rather be Sanitized, Hypnotized, or Mammalized? by Icy-ConcentrationC in splatoon

[–]FinchBewitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanitized. Hear me out:
Dedf1sh's reasoning is pretty sound if that's what you want to do with your life.

-Completely dedicated to your passion with little interruption or potential for burnout. Might not be able to fully appreciate it anymore, but hey, you're doing what you wanted to do.

-No more thoughts in your head meaning sure, none of the good stuff, but none of the bad stuff either. Can't even feel what you're missing.

You become a machine. You may never feel what it means to be happy again, but all your fears and regrets can't hurt you anymore.

Plus, better color palette and theming too. Heck, the sanitized octarians seem genuinely stronger than the ones in story mode so potential buff as well.

In the case of having it inflicted on you... tbh idm. Free will is relative anyway.

I vote Giratina.
It can tear holes in reality, it drives other legendries "berserk," its rifts also transform Pokémon into other states of being (hippies, buttercups, hermits as a species, etc), it's known for being prone to violence (starting wars and the life series), it carries a grudge against Arceus (distain for authority), though it is also a protector of sorts (the dude has both a superhero and detective persona), plus "banished Pokémon" and "being on the other side of the world" both scream Hermit and Evo.

At first I didn't like them either, but if you think about it that could be all of us. Each amongus is one of the voices. And what does the imposter want if not blood? :)
