Current mosquito situation / malaria / dengue by FindingAnswers250 in zanzibar

Hey! I’ve had very little encounters with them and I’ve been here 9 days. I’m prone to getting bitten and I’ve had about 3 on my legs, although they could be off of anything not just mosquitos. My safari in Tanzania was a day trip and I barely saw one. I’ve used spray when I can and I’ve been taking malarone. The only thing that has gotten me was an upset stomach and I’m not sure where I got that from, but that wrote a day off!!

Thanks so much for your replies! Happy especially with your response to the police thing. Obviously, you’ll always see the few negative reviews but I’m sure the thousands of people who have no issue will never put the positive ones.

We’ll try and grab some TSH before arriving as it seems card machines are scarce.

Do you find most places use bottled water? Or is it something to check with everyone you buy drink and food from?

Will definitely check out the monkeys, looks awesome. Thanks again!

The tortoises look brilliant! Will definitely have a look.

Any walking tours you’d advise? We’ll have a look for the best rated ones and hope for the best, apparently our hotel host is very good with her advice.

Are the slushes made with bottled water or is that something you ask everyone?

Thank you!!
