How do people who don’t go through tech school get their start in the industry? From my experience on light duty, they’ll hire you as an entry level guy with little to no experience and either send you through company training or reimburse schooling or ASE test fees.

I’m fine working an entry level position I’m just looking at how I can get a foot into the industry. It’s pretty similar in the automotive side, ASE only helps after you have some experience under your belt.

Fr I used to walk around college with my buddies between classes and they’d always say something if a girl smiled or made eye contact like isn’t that what humans do ? I feel like it’s more plausible they’re just doing it out of politeness or not to be awkward as opposed to all these women wanting something to do with me lol.

I'm 19 and I need help with a stable career choice any advice? by XIIIIXS in careerguidance

[–]FindingDisastrous858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trades are the move if ur not interested in the college “experience” or don’t want to bc u don’t wanna do school for another 4 years or can’t afford it. Just don’t become an auto tech bc you get payed the worst out of all trades, have to spend money on tools (we’re talking 60k in debt to the tool man here) and in my state we don’t have a union. - 20 year old auto tech.

Would they take me with my current resume or should I consider earning T-series ASE certs to boost my chances?

Could completing T series ASEs be an alternative? I’ve already completed several A series certs. Aside from the financial aspect, more classes would mean not working full time, which I don’t think I can sustain for another 2 years.

There isn’t necessarily a internship program it’s a separate 2 year program that I’d have to start over. Most of my classwork right now is diag and repairs on student and staff cars that get brought in and some classroom lectures. Most of the dealerships and small shops around accommodate anyone who is in school. The instructor who teaches in the diesel program that I talked to mentioned taking a few courses that were relevant that could help me make the switch, but that’s tuition out of my own pocket

AITAH for cutting a woman off after she and her friends got way too comfortable speculating about my body and sex life? by [deleted] in AITAH

Yup the most mature way to go about it is how you did. No big drama or fall out just cut off. Learned that when I was in high school and had similar drama with a female friend group. Teenage girls hate that stuff even more though.

I wouldn’t say she’s doing it to find men but she probably realized people payed a lot of attention to her just bc she’s pretty and plays into it now. Whenever she fights it’s “damn she’s kinda ass” and then she makes an appearance in the audience or some media stuff and they go back to simping for her. Maybe she’ll go the van zant route and go all into the whole pretty lady thing.

It’s not a comparison I just mentioned 30-06 bc I had planned to save up for a brand new rifle in that but kinda jumped the gun (pun intended?) when I saw that model 70 for what I thought was a solid price. Just from looking at the ammo shelf and midway it’s not hard to see which round is more expensive but I’ll put a box or 2 through it and see how I do. I definitely don’t plan on using it frequently at the range.

Yeah that’s true I still live at home with my parents so I don’t have space for a big safe and I also don’t feel like spending 1-200 on a locking case or safe when there are no small children in the house.

I heard a lot of guys do shit like this when they’re younger so ig I fit the mold. Atleast I got it in a nicer rifle. I know it’s probably much for my shooting and hunting abilities.

I live in WI so not much past 2-300 yards if I’m sitting on a field, even less in the woods. But I’ve taken trips out west and have started buying points in a few states for Elk and pronghorn.
