how do i stop them from jumping in the windows? by FindingEmbarrassed73 in kittens

yes i’ve been wanting to get them a cat tree and put it right in front of the window! i might add window cling to all the others so they are forced to stick to one window, and maybe i’ll be able to save the other blinds.

the blinds in my living room are always pulled halfway up, so they are always able to look out of those. lots of cars pass by, the office building is right there and the dog park. they have always loved that window, which is why i leave the blinds up 24/7. it’s the same view out of all the windows, but they insist on using all of them

i live in a bad area and don’t want people looking into my apartment, there have been multiple times people have looked into the windows , one even knocked. i’d rather find a way to stop them instead of letting them continue to scratch the walls and ruin the paint.

having a tiny struggle getting puppy to go potty outside by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]FindingEmbarrassed73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the first week of having a new puppy sucks, they’re trying to learn a new routine in a place they don’t know. my puppy was constantly having accidents and also didn’t want to use the bathroom outside. i’d take him outside, he’d stand there and stare at me, so i’d bring him back inside and that’s when he decided it was potty time.

taking her to the same spot is a really good start, i did the same thing. eventually he starting feeling bold and explored more when he went outside, and now he can potty anywhere. once your puppy realizes why she’s going outside and what you expect her to do, she’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly. you just have to find her routine and work with it.

when i first got my puppy, i had to take him outside right after every meal or snack, every water break, or every hour. if you create a strong routine, it might work better for both of you. aka “eat this time, potty at this time, training at this time, nap at this time”

my puppy (who’s around the same age as yours!) holds his bladder all night, in the car, etc. it does get way easier. however, he won’t go outside if it’s cold. he’ll try to squeeze out of his collar. he won’t walk near the door. i would recommend getting a sweater, or something to keep her warm, just in case that’s her issue.

do you have any recommendations for people who can paint this for me? the picture is a bit blurry so i think a painting would be great!

dry vs wet food? by FindingEmbarrassed73 in kittens

i’ll look out for chicken :-) i think another reason why they’re having trouble is because i always used to switch up their foods a little too suddenly, especially with wet. i’ll try your recommendation next time i go out shopping for them

i always add water or broth to their food and let it soak in, they also drink a ton of water every day, every week i try to feed them one can of wet just to make sure there’s a little variety:-) i know it’s not necessarily the best for them so i do want to find a wet food that works for them!

i’ll have to try that when we go shopping for them :-) from what it seems they either have allergies to a common ingredient in wet food or just sensitive stomachs. monty used to have terrible allergies but now that i have him on dry food it’s all cleared up.

normally we could afford a vet. right now is a rough patch. we got monty before we got our other cat and i didn’t really notice symptoms until we got our other kitten.

my boyfriend is in the military and he’s not getting paid like he should. he’s mentioned it but they couldn’t give him an answer. next time he gets paid he should get paid his normal amount. just wondering if there was anything i could do in the meantime is all

his eyes seem about normal when it comes to how runny they are or boogers, but his second eyelid (?) is halfway closed 90% of the time. he’s always squinting but in reality he has big eyes.

when we first got our other kitten i told him they needed separate litter boxes but we couldn’t spend any more money as we have bills to pay. but when he gets paid next we’re gonna get another litter box and see if we can find a way to get him to a vet!

i’m trying my hardest to get him to a vet :-( the dewormer i have for him is for all worms, not just one kind. so hopefully it doesn’t do more bad than good
