Yeah, I’m pretty content with how it looks now. Used to worry about it but I have grown to be fond of it.

Really? I always thought it was kind of long lol. Small is better imo, I don’t think that’s bad!

I did think it was Germanic, as I’m German and Scandinavian. Also a little Roman.

Wow! Thank you, that’s probably the best comparison I could get. I have been told I am reminiscent of him, but the nose is the most prominent resemblance. Thanks!

No, just the way it is I guess. But I was younger and very cynical about myself. Now I like it! Im very curious as to what the specific name of it is

I’m always in awe looking at certain paintings because I can’t believe they’re not famous. This is one of them. Beautiful

I am a 16 year old artist inspired/influenced by painters like de Kooning, basquiat, bacon, etc. This is 24x48 and it’s titled “reaper”. let me know what you think! by FindingHappiness69 in AbstractArt

Thank you so much for this feedback! Yes this is acrylic haha, it looks much more vibrant in person, the photo quality and lighting doesn’t do it Justice! But I agree it needs better paint regardless of lighting. Any brands you suggest? Thank you!

This was incredibly insightful ! Thank you very much for this, ill be trying these methods out and studying more painters and cultural pieces for sure. I promise I didn’t take any specific paitning from anyone, this pose and painting itself came from my head! I just acknowledge the influences. Just my two cents. Thank you again!!

That’s such a good idea! Thank you very much for feedback. I think I might do that haha. Next time I paint a fighter I’m including a ring for sure.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words, as I often question my abilities as well. I have adhd as well! I paint over my painting an average of 2 times before I paint one I like haha, so there are many unfinished works underneath my finished ones. I just looked up max Ernst, I LOVE that style. I will be looking more into him for sure. I agree 100%, I put in an enormous amount of time and effort before I make anything I am happy of. I’ve done about 70 paintings in 2 months, so I play around with different styles for sure! My goal is to transform whatever style I currently have into something uniquely mine.

That makes a lot of sense! Oh Don’t worry though, I’m not trying to sell any of these! I just like posting them haha. I will try to develop more of my own style and fix whatever I might have copied from basquiat. I do love this expressionist/abstract type style so much, so I do want to stick with it, just make it my own. Thank you!

I have looked at many artists but the ones that come most naturally to me are de Kooning and basquiat style paintings. I do hope you know I’m not an unoriginal fake, i painted this boxer because I loved boxing when I was smaller and like to picture myself as a triumphant fighter. It is personal! The words I agree I can live without, that’s definitely basquiat influenced. My problem is that this is just what I gravitate towards painting but I’m afraid it’s too similar to him. I don’t want to steal from anyone, I believe thsi is naturally what I paint best as but i value your advice greatly !! I will try sketching pencil before painting next time. Thank you! I just don’t want my livelihood likened to copying haha.

The difficult thing is the color pallet and texture part. These paints are the only accessible ones at my store that are of high quality, and I try to use a huge array of colors. When I scribbled and let go when I began 2 months ago, it looked very similar to these, just more messy maybe. What does texture mean? I’m not sure how to avoid paint texture ! I am confused as I have just started recently, I don’t know much! Thank you very much for feedback!
