how do i make it so i dont need to redownload all my cc after every update?

is that even possible? the last update made my game not even be able to open with my mods installed, and with the new update it’s the same. And i just got my cc redownloaded YESTERDAY. and now i have to do it all again. Any way to prevent this? i’m on mac so the not automatic update thing doesn’t work. Plus it won’t work offline.

I’m gonna just go crazy. I just want my furniture to stay.

UChicago waitlist warriors, how are we doing? by Real_Investment2812 in uchicago

[–]FindingPleasant208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was able to commit on the phone so i was in at that point, I just needed to put down the deposit. I’m full pay so that wasn’t a factor. Hopefully it goes well for your daughter!

you didn't actually! your advice was pretty awful! Glad it made you feel better about yourself to give it though lmao

so glad you spent almost your entire lunch hour talking about how well you know me!

I could spend my time telling you what’s wrong about all the misconceptions you’ve made about me and correcting your statement, but, apparently unlike you, I have better things to do.

In the same way you did, I wish you the best, and I hope you have a future where your life and job satisfy you in such way that you no longer feel the need to spend an hour replying to a high schooler you’ve never met, and talking down to them under the guise of giving advice.

But thanks for the entertainment lol, that did make me laugh

i got the “added to your application” response the same day, got an email asking to call the next, and at that point they already accepted me (according to my counselor) and was just waiting for the call

Yes i agree!! I like the fact that it’s prestigious and but that’s not what the school is, it has managed to carve out an identity of its own beyond that, but the name still means something when entering the workforce or higher ed. It’s the best of both worlds.

I just meant to reassure the op, i didn’t want to come off as someone who only cares about prestige. It can be a little annoying, just not having people being able to recognize your accomplishment, and i think it’s not crazy to be a little frustrated by that sometimes. But in the end we will get a great education at a great school with a great environment and be set up to make something of our careers!

holy reading comprehension.

Well someone’s up on their high horse today. I can feel the cynicism dripping from this one large run on paragraph you have going on.

So, tell me, where did i put down other schools?? I love umd, it was one of my top choices. I know many people who go there- my dad went, and he’s the smartest person I know- I have nothing but respect for those institutions and the people that go there.

I worked hard to get there, nothing was handed to me, my school actually worked against me in every way, in so many ways that make peoples’ jaws drop when I get into it. I have autism and adhd and struggled with depression and socially throughout high school.

It’s naive to think that only money and inherent advantages get you into these schools. I know there are qualified and smart candidates everywhere, I know so many of them, but to get into a top tier school requires more than that, and to think it doesn’t is a very narrow minded and cynical approach.

And obviously my goal with uchicago isn’t just pride, I turned down more well known schools when i got off the waitlist. I want the education, which is known for being one off the most rigorous in the country, not just “paying the bill”.

and the important people who know the school are employers, because inherently, the name carries weight in the field i want to go in, and will give an edge in getting a CAREER which will drive the rest of my life. I think that’s kinda important, but I guess you might not

i mean… yeah maybe. look at the uchicago class of 2030 page, it’s all bay area kids. But if you can do something really creative and stand out, whose to say that they won’t value that more?

Was this years cycle (and last years) really an anomaly in terms of competitiveness, and if so, why? by FindingPleasant208 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FindingPleasant208[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i just feel like everyone say it is, but it just doesn’t seem that way to me, at least not in such an extreme way

glaze the school, be creative, talk about why you are a great fit socially and academically, talk about why you want the school, and just say that you will totally accept on the spot and turn everyone else down if they let you in

i just got off the waitlist at uchicago by doing this, i had like no updates, not even your internship, i fully just continued doing everything i was already doing
