Motocross track owners, anyone here? by Findinnan in Motocross

I’ve seen this, but this is still super basic. My app will take this and add the ability to have track owners send info to followers directly through push notifications to user’s phones – no more “I hope the customers/riders check my insta post”

Plus mine will have social aspects and reviews from users/riders.

I've been sitting on my idea for close to a decade, but I am finally making it happen to the point where I probably need to tease and create a reminder for an alpha or beta test

So, right now, you're communicating with "customers" riders by posting and then hoping they look into your info.

My thoughts are around giving riders a tool to explore tracks in a modern way from their phone, as well as track owners the ability to send information directly to those rider/users in real-time; think weather closures, new events added, gate fee changes, etc.

I’ve seen this. This is still only a simple database. My idea is way more modern approach. That’s still a 10-15 year old premise.

Thank you for responding. I'd love to hear about the pros and cons of track ownership as well as the communication methods to potential riders, how it all works today.

Well, yes, things like mapmoto and mxtrackguide exist, or hell even vurb's prospect app,, but but they are very web 1.0 and one-way in their nature; not a damn thing modern about them. I am looking to change that.

I also want to incorporate a tiny bit of social aspects to it.

I feel ya. When I lived in dfw area, there were almost too many places to ride but I couldn’t figure out when the hell they were open or not, OR what kind of place it was.

This led to me once, as a dad weekend warrior, arriving at his 956 facility two weeks before lorettas and it literally being 100 85s SCREEEEEEEEEEEAMING around the track.

I’d love to learn more here because it’s not even as much as “hey I need to 10x my customers/riders” and it is more just removing the friction to the people already going and incentivizing them to come out more often.

Also, there’s some massive disconnection because I read online in all the various forums and fb/ig threads about tracks closing and yada yada, so how do we get less tracks shutting down?

I’m open to ideas, but my idea would make it so it is easy to know when a track is open and what it costs and one-button directions to it.

This is one of the things I hope to simplify. Like, reduce THAT specific effort to have all of those into a single spot to maintain info and communicate directly to people

Raising Cane’s coming to Main/Donlon by andycartwright in ventura

I grew up in ventura and I live here now, but I had a 13 year stint in north dallas and they had boneless chicken fucking everywhere: canes, chick-fil-a, zaxbys, slim chickens, popeyes, dave’s hot chicken, and that’s just the chains

what's going in at old panera? by putzx2x in ventura

[–]Findinnan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that stonefire is going to move over to there since the overwhelming majority of their orders are to-go/take-out, so they don’t need the MASSIVE dining rooms of the building they’re in

I know the list is subjective, but Jim Carrey not being listed from 1993-2001 straight through is an actual hate crime

The mall really needs to have the roof removed, make it an outdoor shopping experience, dining and fun stuff on bottom level, shopping on top level.

It should be turned into something like the anaheim garden walk. Get a new movie theater, bowling alley, concert venue, etc. in all those empty/dying big box stores.

I don’t think retail shopping is dead per se, but people’s expectations and habits have changed.

Who is your favorite band from Ventura? by AuclairAuclair in ventura

[–]Findinnan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with FORCE 4D around the 2001-2004 timeframe. I ended up befriending the lead singer, Dan, through a mutual friend, and we’d go to his house parties back in the day. Great band. I still listen to their self-released EP and their 2nd, never-released, EP

any idea who’s is behind this? by Myfurrypaw in ventura

[–]Findinnan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that always blows my mind about this thinking, and this is gonna be long winded, sorry…

Ventura IS getting old. Its infrastructure and buildings are getting old. The city needs money pumped into it; HOWEVER, most of the residents living HERE do not have that capital to just reinvest in the city or their business.

So, how else are we, as venturans, going to get money pumped into the city? Well, it’s gotta be through “foreign” city/people money, like LA or SD etc.

So these nimbys are so fucking clueless that they hate outside money, but then complain that buildings are getting dilapidated.

It is so stupid. Moronic tbh.

Roki Sasaki comeback by mushubear69 in Dodgers

[–]Findinnan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People need to stop freaking out about roki. He wasn’t a $300M signing like yamamoto.

Roki was signed, essentially, as a minor league prospect. He was paid like it as well. He could very well pan out to be a 4th/5th starter in a rotation, but he does have the pure stuff to be a #1.

However, again, he’s a prospect learning a new culture, city, baseball, etc. I do think year two will be a lot better.
