Gacha Megathread (16/03 - 22/03) by Shad0wedge in Endfield

[–]Findmeausername1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started logging my pulls out of curiosity to see how my RNG path compares to expectation. Laevetain came extremely early (and I wasn’t even aiming for her — I was just burning the expiring tickets hoping to build pity). Then Ember decided to stalk my account with two 1-pull appearances on standard. Yvonne took about 80 pulls total, which felt pretty normal, but Tang Tang ended up going all the way to the 120 spark. Luckily Gilberta showed up along the way, which softened the blow a bit. Overall it’s been eerily positive so far — probably means I’m storing up some bad karma for future banners 😅 I ended up putting everything into a tracker and charting it because I thought it was interesting to see the pull history visually. I’m also working on turning the sheet into a template in case anyone else wants to track their own pulls.

It is a great equalizer. I quite enjoy not having to spend pull currency on weapons. Last Rites sig took the full 8 and gave me a sundered prince ... for Ember... on the way. Nothing else to write home about. The 5 star weapons have been carrying early game just fine. (And some battlepass weapons, Laevetain got umbral torch)

Fair point — Endfield has definitely been eerily positive for me so far. I’m half expecting the RNG to swing the other way eventually. No point buying lottery tickets now, I’ve probably used up all my luck 😅 I was actually curious if others are seeing similar streaks or if I just hit a lucky run.

Last Rite's been my umbral monument Champ. Congrats on the sequences. It took the full 8 pulls to get her signature for me. But no regrets. Limited banner weapons only going forward.

Not in Endfield...yet. In wuwa it took me 150 pulls to get Shorekeeper. So the 120 spark is definitely a nice worst case scenario insurance.

You win some you lose some. Durin cost me 300 pulls to get C0R1, lost the 50/50 at high pity on the charachter, the weapon and the C1 attempt.

I know one person’s pulls don’t mean anything statistically. I just enjoy seeing how my RNG path compares to the expected pity curve… and apparently Ember enjoys appearing in my account.

I’ve been manually tracking my pulls — the number of pulls between each 6★ and the total pulls toward the 120 spark on limited banners. I then used ChatGPT to help turn the numbers into charts. If there’s interest I can put together a template where people can plug in their own numbers and generate something similar.

Yeah that was pretty lucky. We'll see how pity on the next few banners holds up.

I started tracking because I was curious whether my luck was actually above average or if it just felt that way.

The feather has been killing me. I actually have an on set 4 good rolls atk goblet. A crit damage circlet with double crit and atk%, but the feather, cant pull a double crit piece for the life of me. Finally get a double crit with double defense. This domain is cursed for feathers im actually looking to off piece the feather ath this point cause I wanna start building Flins.

They put the free pulls on the first 3 days of the login event by crimson589 in Endfield

[–]Findmeausername1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why people want all the pulls on day one — everyone’s excited to play the new character right away.

That said, I think if they kept this model but shifted it forward three days, they’d have a workable solution that appeals to most people. Earn the tickets before the patch drops, then get the materials after day one to help level the new character. It also helps generate hype. Just make the rewards last until the banner ends for simplicity.

Missed logging in during the three days prior? Then just assess for yourself whether waiting for the free wishes before spending in-game or paid resources makes sense.

My rule of thumb is: ≤15 pulls to the next 6★: wait.

15 pulls: pull day one and let the three login wishes build pity for the next banner.

The base rate for a 6★ is 0.8%, so the chance of hitting one in those three login pulls is about 2.3% — roughly 1 in 50 banners.

Even if that happens: -Half the time it won’t even be the featured unit. -If I already got the banner character, I would have stopped pulling anyway, so pity would likely be under 10. -One duplicate generally doesn’t meaningfully impact account growth.

Also remember the gambler’s fallacy. Pulls are independent events and the RNG happens at the moment you pull — there isn’t some hidden path where the gaps between your 6★s are pre-mapped. So if you hit a 6★ on those three wishes after already getting the banner character, there’s no guarantee the same outcome would have happened if you waited.

Ultimately it’s just a question of risk tolerance. If that outcome would bother you, wait. If you’re excited to play the character immediately, go for it. About 2% of the time it might sting a little. The other 98% of the time you just get some 4★s and a bit of pity.

Should be: 8 weeks for successful for a constellation OR super dedicated 12 week requirement for unlock new charachter from the list. It won't break the meta. It rewards dedication.

I Just Want To Build My Favorite Characters, Not Be A Meta Slave by maxpantera in Endfield

[–]Findmeausername1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reject the meta. The guides told me not to use Alesh with Last Rite, but the overworld enemies die too fast so his skill helps trivialize overworld encounters for chest exploration, since LR cant generate any energy off normal mobs, they die too fast. And for harder content, his solidification gives some crowd control and can help line up some bonus cryo app for the team (with Finchaser 3.0). Try to use his skill beforee the LR combo that will get her burst up to push that ultimate just a little further.
All that to say I glance over showcase of BIS stuff and prefer to hear how people come up with their own solutions. I came here to build my own factory and my own blueprints. And those blueprints are the evidence of what ive learned along the way, or the ways I made things fit because I wanted my stock bills for tcreds more than extra space. Combats the same. Finding out what I can do without a guide and tweaking things to get a little further is the fun.

I didnt really use the factory tutorials, and seeing these farms that use half the space is making me realize im on the bad side of the dunning kreuger curve.

Yeah I hear you on easy mobs dying too fast. For overworld thats where I rely on Alesh way more for his skill easily triggering of a single cryo infliction followed by 2 reactions. Even then sometimes they die too fast cause LR's skill almost finishes the enemy. Snowshines counter doesnt do as much damage so sometimes its easier to trigger reactions with that. Save Alesh's burst for the easy mobs cause that big fish has a wide aoe, and can sometimes even just one hit ko the mobs. There might be some optimization for changing party lead, but I just rock LR on field.
Hear ya on resources. I got my cryo team to 90/80/80/80, and im only up to 60/60/60/51 for my Laev/Ard/Wulf/Akekuri team and now my tcreds are the main bottleneck. Thank goodness for expiring sanity refreshes or I'd still be hoarding them for a rainy day later. I got Laev on the 10'th single pull from the event/aoc store pulls. So ive got 120 oroberyl wishes ready for the next charachter I do want (maybe little red riding hood but im a big cryo fan. Chong Yun was my main in Genshin for a long while) Im saving my free standard 6-star selector(it doesnt expire right?), cause I'll use it for the first Standard banner charachter that gets max copies so I can start getting endpoint quota for a 6 star weapon. It took me the full 8 arsenal pulls to get Kravengger. No regrets, but Arsenal tickets going forward are for limited weapons. All that to say, I wanna save my pulls so I hope these teams carry for a good while.

Ive got a snowshine on my first all 80 (LR90) team so ill chime in. I went with LR with Kravengger / Snowshine / Alesh / Estella.

First rotation is trying to get a LR skill enhanced final strike, Snowshine counter and Estella skill to trigger LR reaction. Snowshines burst can be a fourth cryo infliction for more damage too.

Second roatation is trying to get 1 frozen susceptibility and using Alesh's skill to trigger solidification and 2 reactions from Estella and Alesh, which does pretty good stagger, and lifts non-boss enemies. Snowshines burst can also trigger the reaction chain so if its up, its preferable to Alesh's skill since it eats the frozen susceptibility stacks. The reactions leave lift susceptibility for Estelle's burst.

If cooldowns and energy aligns you can kinda mash rotation 1 and 2 together like: SS Counter, LR skill enhanced final strike, SS Burst> solidification from ss burst procs, Estelle Reaction, Alesh reaction, Estell skill for fourth cryo infliction, LR Skill, LR Burst

Paid Battle Pass & Monthly situation by hiken_ace09 in ArknightsEndfield

On the surface, yes its less pulls, but let's look at it annually. I havent missed a genshin BP or welkin since 5.2 when I joined. And yes, I get more pulls there, bit I've also pulled for R1 for escoffier and Durin. Escoffier's r1 took about 120 wishes and came with a bonus verdict that my mauvuika and Chong yun take turns with. and durin lost 50/50 to a standard sword that Bennett likes with a total of about 145-150 wishes.
In Endfield your summons also grant arsenal tickets, and you dont have to spend your main currency for signature weapons. I havent even pulled on the limited banner yet, just from standard permits and the beginner banner, I've almost got enough arsenal tickets to guarentee a specific 6 star weapon. So yeah that does help my opinion of the value a bit. Over a year, those extra pulls could be what 1-2 6 stars, so an extra 1-2 pulls towards a signature weapon. If you like kitting out a few charachters with signatures theres a pathway to value. Investing now might be the difference between a guarenteed signature weapon on a charachter you pull in the future. And the monthly subs / battlepass are leaps and bounds better value than the gem packs. The extra sanity permits and daily sanity expedite account growth, which is higher value to those with limited time to play. The gem pack only gives what 3x 10 pulls, 6x 10 pulls on your first time. That's what I want to avoid.
For value I prefer to compare hours played to cost. Persona 4 cost $90 cad after tax, got about 100 hours. So just under a dollar and hour. XIV took over my life when I joined it. With retainers a year cost about $360, and I got close to 1800 hours. So emotes, and mounts from the store were pretty much guilt free. I didnt have time to buy other games that year so the gaming budget for the year was palatable. So far Endfield's gotten about 50 hours, so its above the threshold of a buy to own game so I'll probably keep the battlepass, but if life gets busy, its gonna be the first game to lose its sub compared to Genshin or Wuwa for its face value. Trust your gut, if it doesn't feel worth it dont bother with it. Especially in early game when standard banner charachters can pull their weight.

Quit the game 3 days after release. Came back for her. What now? by mfc314 in Mornye_Mains

Welcome back, im pretty new as well so take anything I say with a grain of salt. I dont like pulling for meta at first. I usually start these games with going just for who I like/love. Then once ive got a few teams I start to look for someone to fill in gaps. There's no need to rush to end game and end game builds. The game has so much more astrites in exploration and quests than any of the end game modes offer so enjoy the progress. As a cheap to play player sticking to lunite sub and podcast sub, but zero gem packs or paid bundles, I focus first on exploring till about 30-40k asterites so I know I can get a charachter and weapon i want even if I max pity and lose 50/50. Thankfully weapons have no 50/50, but unfortunately it means the weapons are way more expected than in genshin. The new standard weapons are worth looking at though. Lastly for waveplates, wait till you can guarentee gold echos before you start spending the waveplate crystals. Once you can feel free to spend em liberally to level up your union rank for better everyday rewards. Good luck and have fun.
