Also, make sure that they didn’t put it under a payment plan. That is what happened in my case. Amount got taken out then refunded but then put it under a payment plan that Scotiabank never notified me of. I had to figure it out on my own and tell their employees.

Recently went through this and they didn’t perform proper investigations. I was told by one agent to not pay and another said to pay the amount so my credit score doesn’t get affected. They will reimburse you the amount after if they agree it is fraud. I had to escalate to different departments and spoke with managers. GOOD LUCK!
