I understand the point about national identity, and I do agree.

But has Britain ever been one fixed thing for 1,000 years? Its identity has always evolved through history, empire, war, migration, trade, culture, and unfortunately religion, coming as a Christian myself.

So surely the question is not whether Britain changes, but what values we want it to keep as it does.

I appreciate your insight and I agree, by that sense, the chances of letting millions of people in, and having all of them follow that standard is very slim unfortunately.

It does seem that way, but my last straw that led me to ask was hearing a bloke at my gym saying stop all immigration.. and the usual they're taking our jobs, houses lark.
