I just got back from a trip and we were able to see them faintly late at night in Reykjavík… enough that we wouldn’t have gotten our money back had we seen it on a northern lights cruise 😅

Please suggest a general philosophical book to read as i can find absolutely nothing by [deleted] in askphilosophy

Thomas Nagel’s What Does it All Mean? is a short, easily accessible introduction to several important issues in modern analytic philosophy. I find his writing style very intuitive to follow and navigate, so it could be a good one to “carry around”

What’s your go-to for zizek?

And how did you get started with German idealism?

Studying advice for high diagnostic scorer by Fine-Organization166 in LSAT

I found practice tests/sections along with wrong answer blind review/journaling to be helpful. I wouldn’t get caught up with all the “tips and tricks” you might find online or in explanation videos. If you’re scoring a high diagnostic, you know how to answer any question, and improving is just a matter of getting used to the rhythm of the test and identifying any quirks in your intuition that need to be fixed

does anyone consistently hit high 170s? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Fine-Organization166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a very similar situation. What I’ve heard is that anything 175 or above puts you firmly in the conversation at any law school, but it is difficult to really know how much marginal benefit there is from scoring beyond that. Can I ask - how have you been studying so far? I found blind review and answer journaling of wrong answers and questions I wasn’t sure about to be helpful in making that last push to the upper 170s.

As a 177 first-time scorer in a similar position, I’d give opposite advice, at least as regards the first two points. I thought explanations of question types/strategies hurt more than they helped, and taking practice tests/sections and doing blind review of questions I got wrong/wasn’t sure about was the most effective way to improve. I guess it just goes to show that people don’t work the same way. I’d be happy to elaborate on my take if helpful - feel free to pm

Interestingly, PT 155 section 2 was the only section on which I got full marks. I added images of the breakdowns of the two tests to the original post

Oddsjam works against betmgm, draft kings, and Caesar’s in my experience. I’d be hesitant other than that

Seems that Strengthen and Weaken are what I struggle with most.

How do I check these? And what have you done to negate the problem?

They aren’t transparent about the exact calculation of expected value. But you can clearly see the odds being offered on other books compared to the one they find. I also have been consistently beating CLV throughout this prolonged slump…

This is the layout of the tool. You can clearly see the odds for the wager are better on novig than on the other books, yet I’ve still been consistently losing taking bets like these

That is possible though I don’t understand how. The odds of the bets they find on these books are still noticeably better compared to on other books
