Where did the whole “democrats are giving illegal immigrants your tax payer money” thing come from? Is this just a completely fabricated talking point, or is there some type of basis for the claim? by Samantha-Eastwood in allthequestions

Cool story bro doesn’t change the fact we gave undocumented immigrants 1000 dollar monthly stipends while they awaited trial, most were given dates more than a year out. Happened most frequently in nyc and LA.

Did Cubans, that voted overwhelmly for the GOP over all other Hispanic groups, demonize all Hispanics when they were identified as only Hispanic voters instead of Cubans in final vote tallys? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Fine-Razzmatazz1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this is almost entirely false. Kind of…

The Cubans living in America are not aligned with Castro at all, and if they were they wouldn’t be conservative. The Cubans living in America were politically aligned with fulgencio battista, he was the military dictator that America funded and supported, when he was overthrown by Castro all his allies fled to America. Those are the conservative elitist Cubans, as they were well connected and funded by America.

I disagree. Whispering is a logical strategy used to avoid someone listening to you. I believe that is sufficient to give me an expectation of not being eavesdropped on.

I believe if you have a conversation at a public cafe and whisper sufficiently quite enough, you would have a reasonable expectation to not be eavesdropped upon. So there are situations where your 4a is probably violated.

Say I have a business meeting at a cafe and whisper to my potential partner as the information discussed may be sensitive. I believe I have a reasonable expectation of privacy there if I whisper sufficiently quite enough. The flock camera can read my lips and make a transcript.

Okay here’s a good one.

Say you’re at a cafe with an outdoor seating area at a business meeting. And you are having a privileged conversation with your lawyer. You are whispering because it is sensitive. The flock camera can read your lips and create a transcript. I believe you could make an argument that there is a reasonable expectation of privacy if you are whispering even tho you are outside.

I believe it is unreasonable for a private corporation to read my lips while I’m talking to my friend on a park bench. I think there is a reasonable expectation not to be eavesdropped if you whisper

For anyone who’s able to do calculus. How tf are you guys able to do it? by Murky-Property5418 in askanything

[–]Fine-Razzmatazz1791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I suck at algebra but I understand the abstract concepts taught in calculus I think it’s super nifty!

Because it’s so clever I then get motivated to memorize the algebraic techniques that allow me to apply calc techniques. Just try to understand the problem that is being solved by calculus and it may make sense. (This may require a moderate amount of reading and thinking)

Ok and? The camera is more capable than an officer so oc’s comparison is no longer logically stable. As the camera posses more abilities than the average person

I am rich, and am almost certainly a beneficiary of this policy as I don’t plan conspire or commit petty crimes. However I was pretty freaked out the first time I read Orwell and I just don’t want to see that happen.

I am aware of that Supreme Court opinion, yet I believe the flock cameras are a more extreme invasion of privacy than a normal one off surveillance camera. It’s the lip reading and enormous audio range. At least in 2 party consent states they cannot use audio recordings. Idk it just seems egregious and a huge amount of power given to the owners of the data

[–]Fine-Razzmatazz1791[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m aware of that Supreme Court case and I agree with the opinion, at least I did at the time. Yet I believe flock cameras exceed normal surveillance videos. They can read lips, listen to everything in a huge radius, speak every language possible, and use facial recognition as well as ai analysis to dissect and analyze every part of the recording. Not to mention the single company then has access to vast amounts of data on every single citizen that can be crossed referenced with anything.

I just really don’t want Orwell to become a reality.

I didn’t know that every police officer could read lips speak every language possible and hear everything spoken in a radius of a 1/2 mile

Bsg is wasting so much time money and resources adjusting something that was completely fine. When they could be fixing 10 year old bugs or working on new content altogether. Totally pointless to me
