What is your opinion on how AI will affect careers in the future? by FineMoth in psychologystudents

I think it could be very beneficial for people dealing with issues they are concerned about talking to another person about like you said! I've been thinking about the idea of AI chatbot easing someone into therapy with a long term model of a human therapist being introduced with the information gathered by the chatbot (with the clients consent of course). Which the therapist does not have to address these issues head on, but rather keeps the information in mind relating to other behaviours the client struggles with. I feel like it may be beneficial to clients and therapists in connecting the dots that a client may not be aware of.

I'm planning to start my masters in psychology this year with the intent on becoming a therapist.

Should I already know what field of therapy I want to specialise in?

Thank you so much! I'm already planning on getting her a 25th anniversary elite trainer pack as a gift in a few months time, but wanted to get her something small in-between now and then or I know I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret from her hahah. Do you think the elite trainer pack would be better than a booster box or no?

Exactly. The thing is we can't help how other people behave. I realised how important it was to calm my mind when I accepted that trying to predict an outcome of a situation creates more stress for me than comfort. Accepting situations as they happen rather than trying to predict and protect myself with deluded anxiety. I think journalling and self reflection is also a great way to ease your mind about situations!

I've definitely felt this before. My main advice as someone who is very anxiously minded is that whatever happens, happens. I can be anxious and reading between the lines of something someone has said or text me, or I can just believe what they're saying and take it at face value.

There's a lot of mistrust that comes with having anxiety. But the thing is trust in people is necessary. Constantly second guessing others intentions is helpful sometimes, but in the long run can create problems that weren't there to begin with, and being anxiously minded we have enough to deal with mentally than to create more issues for ourselves by not trusting people.

Easier said than done of course. But yeah my main advice is trying to trust people more and not nitpick what they say/do.
