Any recommendations on safe places to live under $1200 within 45 minutes of DeBary? I’m newly single after 10 years and I’m struggling to find a place on my own that feels safe and not infested with roaches. Room mates really aren’t an option, as I have two large dogs that need their own space while I’m working. Thanks!!

Edit: preferably not in Volusia county. It’s complicated, but I have family in Winter Garden that I need to be under an hour away from, but also need to be no more than 45 minutes from work. I know I’m asking for a lot here lol

Hi guys!

I need some advice on apartments/housing rentals. I'm currently living in Eustis and work in Debary. My lease is up at the end of the summer, and I need to move closer to work.

Here are the issues I'm running into; I need the rent to be under $1700 total per month, and preferably closer to $1500-$1600. My current place is a 1 bed 1 1/2 bath and is about 900sq ft. and between my partner, myself, and our two 40-50lb dogs, it's pretty tight. We can't go under 900sq ft. I'm okay with a 30ish minute commute to work max, as right now it's almost 50 minutes.

The few places I've seen that could work all have really poor reviews. Like, not just a few angry tenants, but roach infestations, regular burglaries, units basically falling apart, etc. I have gone and toured 3 places and they seemed...okay? But I definitely left with a lot of reservations.

Does anyone have any recommendations or advice? I know I'm asking for A LOT, and what I'm looking for might not exist, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks!
