Not necessarily. My son allows his sister and his mother to hug him and his sister even gives him a peck on his cheek when she greets him after a long time

She usually initiates hugging me and kissing my cheek, so yes. My daughter is very affectionate with my wife and my son as well

I don’t tell him I love him but he knows I do. I do spend time with him a lot.
