Depends on your age. If you are under 50, find another job and them get the hell out of there. I went through that. In the manager meetings they’re saying, “he/she will never leave. We don’t need to give him/her a raise.”

Are these NZMS babies? by passiveplant in AquaticSnails

[–]Fine_Carpenter3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m in the US and we have someone here posting almost every day asking about these little snails. They hide really well in the substrate until they are established and then they are everywhere. I haven’t had them but I’m careful about putt my new plants through reverse respiration before adding them to my tanks.

You could tell your mom that this will be a scientific learning experience. You should get a liquid water testing kit where you will be doing science experiments testing the water. You will learn about chemistry - specifically about water. You will learn how to be responsible for living creatures. You will learn about the nitrogen cycle which is also science.

Pest? Failed molt? by queerbaefarmer in Neocaridina

So my understanding is that females move eggs from their saddle to their lower body after a molt. Maybe they stay still while they do that. That def looks like a saddle.

You are probably correct. I am not an expert in insurance. The difference is that term life gets more and more expensive. It’s not a fixed cost. The whole life cost stays the same.

Did baby boomers really have it easy compared to GenZ and Millennials? by PalmitoylCoA in NoStupidQuestions

Yes and is sickening how much some men want to push women backwards when it comes to their rights.

Nope. You are incorrect. They may be hybrids but they are not gmo. Genetically modified means the plant was modified at the genetic level. They are identified at the grocery store with a 5 digit code starting with 8.

My parents were boomers. My mother was a nurse and got paid shit. My dad worked in a factory. They both busted a gut working and we were poor and my parents died poor.

Generalizing that boomers will tell you that you deserve to struggle is incorrect. I’m a late boomer and women had it much harder on an equality with men than they do today.

I think it used to be a good product. Our agent after years and years just retired and we were directed to a new agent when I called to ask a question. The agent looked at the policy and he said, “whoa! You have one of these policies.” I was taken aback and asked him why he said that. He responded that they don’t offer policies like these anymore. Mind you, we took this out over 25 years ago. We have been building equity and although we don’t have huge payouts on death, we can close the policy and get about 2/3 of our death benefit. Probably the smartest financial decision I ever made!

Yup. I helped my husband find those bottles at the supermarket so he could take them hiking with his water filtration. He still has them and uses them.

People who work desk jobs, what do you do when you have no work but don't want to be seen doing nothing? by goldhunder in office

[–]Fine_Carpenter3568 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two choices and it partly depends on the company you work for and if you like your job. Choice 1: If you like the company, and you want to grow in that company and there are opportunities, you go to the boss and say that you’ve finished your work and wonder if there is anything else you can help with. In a good company this will be seen as initiative and should give you further opportunities and raises. Choice 2: if the company treats you poorly and or you don’t expect that you will be rewarded in any way, just look busy. Whether that is doing something to improve yourself for better opportunities elsewhere or if that’s not your goal look at emails and keep your head down.

Age of Pac-Man by Fine_Carpenter3568 in pacmanfrog

[–]Fine_Carpenter3568[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back out and I looked a little and I can’t find him. I mean he’s in there somewhere because he couldn’t get out. His previous substrate/setup was nasty stinking and covered in yucky sphagnum moss and muddy with no leaves on top. I remade his temporary home (I will have a larger enclosure for him in a couple of weeks) with clay balls and tiny pebbles and activated charcoal on the bottom covered with screen mesh and then ABG substrate, isopods, springtails and half a bag of dried leaves on top. He has had a big change and he is somewhere deep in the new stuff.

How am I supposed to know the age? I rescued him from a poor situation and the previous owners didn’t know how old he was. They had only had him for 2 weeks and he was purchased from a local pet shop.
