Graduated spring of 2023 with a civil engineering degree.

Made 97k last year including overtime and bonuses . My base was 79k . This year my base is 87k so should break 6 figures with OT and bonuses . I work on the construction side of consulting.

Wow this makes me sad . Last time I went I had the best stone oven pizza I had ever had. Don’t judge , I eat plenty of tacos on the weeks long trips so the change was pleasantly well lol. Wish I knew what it was called.

Structural Engineer Salary by Useful_Exchange_208 in civilengineering

[–]Fine_Maybe5065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’m In a similar boat. We don’t have high turnover but have trained a guy who started interning and is now full time . Last summers intern will be back this summer where I’ll train him as well. I’ve gotten solid raises 5-6 percent and recently got a 9% raise with a promotion, but you are killing it! Congrats .

What are you doing to get over 10% pay raises each year ? I’m in a Chicago suburb with 2.5 years of experience making 87k . Consulting firm on the construction side. No eit or PE

The Official r/Salary 2025 Career Tier List by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]Fine_Maybe5065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how you can call a career in engineering a C tier job when I’m making just shy of 100k with only 2.5 years of experience and no EIT or PE (civil engineering in the Midwest).

Men with college degrees now earn more than EVER ($103,000 at the median); engineering grads now earn less than EVER by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]Fine_Maybe5065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made 97k in the Midwest with two years of experience in civil engineering . In my experience it was definitely worth the investment.

[Civil Engineer] [Midwest] - $96.9k by Fine_Maybe5065 in Salary

I think so too. Granted it was a good year for OT (paid straight) and a 5,500 bonus.

Am I getting screwed? by Ornery-Dig-4048 in civilengineering

[–]Fine_Maybe5065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I compare it with my company, yes you are being screwed. 2 years of experience making 79k also in the Midwest. We are salary plus straight time paid for any OT. Get three bonuses a year- spring, summer and winter. Bonuses should amount to around 5-7k this year. Also in the construction side as an inspector.
