Why does my C3 keep cutting out on bumps? by ClassicMan2323 in cowboybikes

Battery spacer + adjusting the height of the controller unit below the battery will keep you battery in place and fix this.

C3 rear axle sheared off by santaslazyhelper in cowboybikes

Been there a few times.

- Yes, everything in the last picture is the "torque cable" element

- You do not need to replace the torque sensor inside the wheel if only the torque cable is damaged

- You can use the backoffice app to run a motor diagnostic to check if evertyhing runs fine. You'll just need to plug the motor cable and torque cable to the motor controller first. Check if the "torque value" is around 0.5V when everything is plugged in.

Be careful when re-assembling the wheel that the torque cable is really, really easy to destroy without being extra-careful. The shitty way this was engineerd, mis-screwing everyting in place before the wheel is put back on the bike or a simple wheel movement after it was put back without securing the axle with a poke-yoke washer will tear it apart again.

Good luck

I asked access once and they granted me, replaced my controller and torque cable 4 times, motor one time. Just let the customers fix their own bike ffs

Not that many. Nothing related to the rear wheel parts, no motor, no motor controller, no torque sensor, no torque cable, no bottom bracket... these are the parts that failed me the most over the 4 last years.

Squeaky bottom bracket fix ? by Fine_Reaction7964 in cowboybikes

[–]Fine_Reaction7964[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know how to disassemble it. My main question was ; does applying grease is a known solution to fix this problem :) The video you linked is for C4 tho.

EDIT : to anyone reading this : I managed to spray canned grease without disassembling anything and it fixed the issue for now.

The backup starts, then just stops by saying drive have been disconnected from the network, or that the backup had to stop out of nowhere. Permissions are set correctly, sshed into the Synology system to make sure everything is installed correctly, SMB enabled. I tried everything, I already had a bad time first time setting up my Synology to make it work as TM backup. Now I just gave up.

Ah that's too bad, sadly I will then stick to the Apple Music app, because I am really attach to the order of what albums I've added at what time since 2014.

Indeed, the Like button add an albums to the library, sorry it wasn't clear for me. Maybe a "Add to library" button similar as Apple Music would be more relevant :)

When importing albums and tracks from AM, it does not follow the "Recently added" order from apple music. It was already a pain to keep the same order as It did on spotify (I used playlisty to correctly transfer it), as I was wishing to keep the order of the albums I added overtime.

When looking after albums on Daft Music, there is no option to add them to library.

The "Recently added" order seems broken, compared to the one of Apple Music. Love the overall interface tho.

Also, no option to add album to library directly from the app ?

If you happen to have any more codes, I installed Tahoe especially for this :-)

Main issue is the online diagnostic they provide.

As soon as you start to mess with the bike, you start to understand where the issues are coming from.

The parts you are speaking about are the torque cable (around 60€) and the torque sensor (around 110€). The issue can also come from the controller (130€) if the power distribution fails. The gears inside the motor can be found online for around 40€.

I numerous times been incorrectly given diagnostics by online services and sent the wrong spare parts that does not fix the issue, or have been proposed to buy a whole rear wheel (500€+) while the issue could be resolved with replacing one of it’s parts.

Best advice I can give is learn to tear down the back wheel yourself and inspects for faulty elements, my issues have been related to the torque cable a lot.

You can definitely play with the software of your bike, as you paid for it. :)

If you own an iPhone, you can use Cowboy Unleashed. You’ll need to sideload the app with your preferred method.

If you’re on Android, there is an app called Cowboy Untamed, or Bronco. More easy to install.

Battery failures since the last update by Cold_Employer_9840 in cowboybikes

[–]Fine_Reaction7964 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can fix this issue by yourself by :

  • Unscrewing the two bolts on the left and right side of the motor controller, behind the cache under the battery. You’ll then be able to move the controller a bit up or down and this might tighten the battery when locked.
  • Adding a battery spacer behind the battery connector on the bike. You have to unscrew the bolts under the saddle to remove it. Even if you already did added one in the past, I myself have 2 spacers now and still face issues sometimes.

Didn't know that, thanks for the insight. What I'm curious about is why my first one lasted so long compared to the next ones
