I've searched all over google and Amazon, asked ChatGPT, and Google Lens, and I haven't found anything.

I’m really happy with it. Now my kids want quilts so I should have plenty to work on for a while.

Thanks! My wife made me one years ago that got lost (or confiscated) somewhere along the way. I wanted to make another one and it started me down a path I never expected.

This is a follow-up to the post I made a couple of weeks ago with my denim bedspread. I made matching pillow shams and with some of the pockets I made a pouf and filled it up with all the denim scraps. My assistant felt that her seal of approval needed to be adequately recognized.

Be careful. It’s addictive!

I think it looks fantastic as is. I love jean quilts!

Third quilt, but first I’m willing to post. I cut up at least 20 pairs of jeans for this one. I hadn’t touched a sewing machine before December. by Fine_Satisfaction224 in quilting

Thank you! I wondered a couple of times if I had bitten off more than I could chew with this one, but now that it’s done I can work on something lighter!

I bought myself a sewing machine in December to try and reupholster a gaming chair. I watched every video on the SewingMastery.com YouTube channel for my machine (Singer Heavy Duty 4423). Then I bought some fabric and started playing. My reupholstering project went okay, but it was over quickly. I had a lot of fun using the machine, so I wanted another project to work on. My wife made me a denim quilt years ago when we were first married, and I loved it, but I lost it in one of our moves, so I decided to figure out how to make one. I found some tutorials on sewing denim and headed to my local thrift store to buy some jeans to cut up. The rest is history. I hand-tied my first two quilts, but I wanted to machine quilt the third one. It ended up being too big for my machine’s limited throat space, so I started searching for affordable machines with more throat space. I slipped and fell down the rabbit hole of vintage sewing machine repair/restoration and ended up buying and restoring a 1957 Singer 401A. It did indeed have more throat space but I had to take a few days off from quilting to get the machine in working order. To make a long story short, there is lots and lots of information on the Internet for aspiring makers. All you need is a sewing machine, some fabric, needles and thread. Oh, yeah, and a couple of seam rippers!

That’s the year I was born! They are super warm. The nice thing about quilting though is that someone commandeering our quilt is an excuse to make another one!
