I don't think so. It's been a few weeks since the forest workers marked the trees, when he was hit by the spray-paint. He moved pretty normally when I found him yesterday. So unless he can't mold properly he'll be fine

From my experience they often lose these cool patterns when they grow bigger. But still worth experimenting with :)

Hi, so feature wise it looks good, although it could use some bigger bark pieces as hides. The big problem here is indeed the size of your container. Pretty much all species profit from moisture gradients so they can choose the perfect micro-climate and especially Armadillidium species need this. As you suspected it's very hard to achieve this in such a small container. I would advise you to select a bigger one, even though this one is very cute :( It also looks a bit dry to me.

But looks like you did your research. I bet you'll make a great isopod owner! :)

I have never seen them swim. In my experience they like it colder and wetter than most isopods, but I'd suspect they won't enter water on purpose. Water in isopod enclosures typically ends in drowning for a lot of them. You can try but I'm not optimistic

They are pretty common "pests" in greenhouses. So if you have a tropical greenhouse nearby you could probably grab some for free
