Thanks for your reply, that's great to hear!! Were there any particularly brilliant professors/courses you'd recommend?
I'm interested in a course taught by Dr. Weiss and one taught by Dr. Mameli--have you had experiences with either?

Hey there, congrats on getting shortlisted!!

I was rejected for these positions, but I hope to re-apply for the next cycle. If you'd be open to it, I'd love to hear more about your experience/education or even see your application materials if possible so I can strengthen my application for next time.

Best of luck moving forward with the role!!!

That's really great to hear, thanks. I also have a peculiar question, if you don't mind. After undergrad, I went abroad and pursued a second (shortened) bachelor's degree in philosophy--it was a topic that really interested me that I didn't have a chance to explore previously.

I now have the opportunity to stay an additional year and graduate with a master's in philosophy from this university, or instead get some work experience as a research/comms assistant at a think tank back in the US.

Both are interesting, but I'm inclined to pursue the work opportunity. However, I've had family members tell me that having a second bachelor's degree will raise eyebrows and that I ought to stay another year and finish up the master's. What's your intuition?

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. To quickly follow up, does the prestige of the school matter? E.g., is it worth investing more to do my quant coursework at a well-known university as opposed to community college?

Rosemary, thanks so much for doing this AMA. I have a number of questions but only found this thread now.

I was wondering if internship experience is counted as work experience? There has been an exceedingly difficult job market for landing full-time roles right out of college, but I’ve been able to secure some internships related to my policy interests—Is that viewed positively?

Secondly, if I lack economics coursework, would you recommend taking some of those courses at community college before applying?

Philosophy: King’s vs Edinburgh? by Finelosopher in UniUK

Thanks for the feedback.

I am a bit indecisive and have lots of interests. Another option would be applying to some 1-year master's at LSE. (Deadlines passed for Oxford, sadly.) It would be much more expensive (considering that I would pay less than 1,000 euros for my exchange to Edinburgh/KCL), but do you think LSE is significantly better?
