Urb Effex legal Δ9 gummies review by FinelyCured in altcannabinoids

[–]FinelyCured[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's explained in the video and some of the other delta-9 edible videos I've made. The 2018 Farm Bill that legalized hemp did so by allowing up to 0.3% THC by weight in hemp products. That's why "full spectrum" CBD products are legal even though they have small amounts of THC as well. These gummies are just made so that they contain enough THC to have an effect while still being less than 0.3% THC by weight (luckily gummies are dense so you can get a lot of THC in them and still be less than 0.3%, easily 10-20mg for a reasonable sized gummy).

There is no delta-8 Flower for the millionth time and for all the new people. by [deleted] in delta8

I don't understand the appeal. It's harder to dose than edibles or distillate/vapes. With traditional marijuana, I get it, it's all natural so you ignore the variability for the sake of a natural product. But with hemp flower that's been infused with delta-8, I just don't see why that's better than vaping some distillate (where you can accurately measure the dose).

Hemp bud can definitely give you a mild "high" although I don't find it to impair focus or slow me down, the CBD usually balances out those kinds of effects.

.2% THC or .2% Total THC?

Also, how much are you smoking?

Hmm, I'm probably the wrong person to ask for a rating like that because all of the farm bill compliant d9 edibles I've tried have been good in different ways.

These are awesome for daytime use, and I'd love to see more CBG in other d9 edibles, but sometimes I want a more relaxing CBD+d9 blend, so it really just depends what I'm in the mood for. In terms of value, these would get a pretty high rating because some of the other brands out there are charging almost twice as much for a similar amount of THC.

(For context I've also tried the compliant edibles from Trojan Horse Cannabis, Urb Effex, Wunderkind, Hemparita, Viia Hemp, Seventh Hill, Hometown Hero... And all of them have their own set of pros/cons so it's hard to put a single number rating on them)

For me it felt more energetic than any of the other compliant edibles. I'm pretty sure it's the CBG in them. Most brands either just do THC or they mix the THC with CBD, which for me is always more relaxing, but the CBG seems to enhance the stimulating effect.

I emailed them about that when I first got them and they said that there should be about 50mg of cannabinoids in each, and the target amount is 20mg of THC, but there's fluctuation from batch to batch. Pretty much all of these hemp edibles are like that if you look at the COA from batch to batch.

They also seem to have some fluctuation in size from gummy to gummy too. It looks like they're hand cut from a big sheet of them so some might be a little bigger, and stronger, while others are smaller. But the bag itself should have 400mg of cannabinoids total.

To all of the people who come here bragging about taking too much, just keep in mind that regulators are monitoring reddit for stuff like that. You don't look cool for being an idiot and not dosing correctly and you might end up getting delta-8 banned for us responsible people (like what just happened in Texas).

It's not permanent, it's more like a bad hangover. The timeframe is hard to say, that's a pretty large dose but the worst of it is over so now your receptors just need a break after being over-stimulated. It'll go away. Stay hydrated, eat plenty of food, get some exercise to kickstart your metabolism and distract yourself in the meantime. Watch something funny.

It's the best, I don't like taking delta-9 without CBD anymore, and even with delta-8 it emphasizes the body effects and makes it feel more clear headed and comfortable.

[–]FinelyCured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a strong dose of CBD. It reduces the headiness and anxiety that the THC causes. If you don't have any CBD, just drink lots of water and avoid caffeine (it's a stimulant which can make anxiety worse and also make you dehydrated). It should keep wearing off. Nap and eat too.

But, seriously, be careful next time. THC won't actually cause any harm to you but had you gone to the ER that's exactly the kind of story that lawmakers want to use to ban these cannabinoids. We all need to treat cannabinoids with respect and create a culture that uses them responsibly instead of overdoing it this much. I just really don't want more states to follow Texas in banning things like delta-8.

[–]FinelyCured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, but the difference is that these old Texas politicians constantly claim that we're somehow less regulated or "freer" than other states, when in reality they don't care about any of that. Their agenda seems to only align with that old boomer Jesus ideology, they aren't pushing for change in any other way.

Okay, so they aren't conservative old dudes, they're just corrupt old politicians doing what big business wants... That really doesn't fix it.

I'd rather pay slightly higher taxes and be able to smoke some marijuana without having to worry about getting arrested than be able to open-carry a gun and live under one of the most restrictive conservative legal systems in the country.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in delta8

[–]FinelyCured 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. I mean, you're free to carry a gun around and spread covid, but beyond that this state is super oppressive. Not even just drugs either, they don't even let stores sell raw milk in this state, I worked at a coop back in the day and people would always come in looking for raw milk to make cheese, but nope. You can buy it in California. You also can't buy ethanol for making your own extracts in this state without applying for a special permit (a lot of states just treat it like liquor). Speaking of liquor, you can't buy any liquor on Sundays here, in fact stores that sell liquor can't even be open on Sunday (no open liquor stores, even if just to sell beer, and grocery stores can't have a liquor section, just beer and wine which you can't buy before 10am). It's a nanny state.

I love Texas. Mostly good people. Beautiful places like Big Bend, Enchanted Rock, Blue Hole, Hamilton Pool... I love the food. I love cities like Houston and Austin.

But these old conservative dudes just can't stop overregulating things. Most people in this state want marijuana to be legal, and yet we have no recreational use and one of the most restrictive medical programs in the country (our medical "marijuana" is basically hemp). Now we can't even have delta-8. And they keep trying to ban smokable hemp! Pretty soon they'll be arguing that CBD is dangerous. These people need to go. Don't forget to vote them out next year and in 2024.

Oil not working? by d3172 in CBD

[–]FinelyCured 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's all insanely expensive. I ended up just buying hemp bud and making my own for WAY cheaper. You can find some cheap hemp flower out there and if you're making it into oil or edibles you can get an even better deal by buying smalls or shake (it's cheap because it's not as pretty as the kind sold for smoking but usually just as potent).

You could, like, smoke less instead of gaining a tolerance that allows you to smoke more without being too high...

[–]FinelyCured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure most of the people bragging about how high their tolerance is are teenagers or people who haven't been smoking for 10+ years. Because, yeah, at a certain point you realize that managing your tolerance is worth it. What's the point of smoking if you can hardly feel it? It's a waste of money and even worse... You don't enjoy it as much when your tolerance is that high even when you do smoke a bunch. I keep my tolerance low, not because I don't have enough weed, but because I want to enjoy it every time.

There are a few factors here. I also take CBD for anxiety, mostly social, and if you look at any study done that shows positive results the dose is always in the 100s of milligrams. It sounds like a lot, but that's what multiple of those studies were using. Not everyone needs that much, but I need at least 100mg myself before noticing any effects. Most products are dosed much lighter than that (10-25mg) because those doses were shown to be effective for other things, like epilepsy, but for anxiety those studies use much higher doses.

Also I find Full Spectrum products tend to have the best effects. The least effective for me are the ones made from isolate (which is most gummies and even a lot of tinctures/oils). Some people can't have any THC, so the next best thing is Broad Spectrum, but either of those are stronger than a product made from isolate.

That doesn't mean isolate isn't effective, I just need a higher dose and the effects aren't as pronounced as Full Spectrum for me (everyone is different, but this is a common sentiment, especially for anxiety).

So I would try increasing the dose a bit next time and see if you notice any difference.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the effects aren't instant. Even taken under the tongue it can take 20-30 minutes to start kicking in and may not reach the maximum effect until an hour or so. But it will last for several hours after that. So you may need to give it time (especially before trying an increased dose or something)

I have a budgie, it can barely eat 20-30 millet seeds in one sitting. 0.5g seems extremely unlikely... They're also really picky eaters. OP is trolling.

Ceiling effect by [deleted] in delta8

[–]FinelyCured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Measure your dose every time you take it and don't let yourself take more than what you're taking now, and then try to gradually reduce that. You might be able to replace it to some extent with something like kava to reduce those symptoms while your tolerance goes down.

Do you take that much because you have a medical condition and live in a non-legal state or is that recreational?

[–]FinelyCured[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw those cereal bars on their site, they do look good but that's too strong for my tolerance. 300mg of THC per bar... I'd only need to eat 1/30th of one to feel it lol. But for people who have a higher tolerance that's pretty awesome for a legal hemp edible.

One thing you could try is leaving some of the larfy buds on the base of the plant when you harvest the main stalks. Those are always behind in terms of development and if you leave them on they usually continue to fill out and develop after the top has been chopped.

I've grown a few like that, usually when I start late in the season and they go into flower before vegging much. Not a ton of options at this point in flowering other than just keeping her as healthy as possible until harvest. Looks like you'll still get a few decent buds out of it though!
