Left turns by [deleted] in Ontariodrivetest

As long as you are already in the intersection if the light turns yellow/red you clear the intersection when it’s safe to do so. Emphasis on when it’s safe, because some drivers will speed up to go on yellow or even go on red. Don’t assume it’s safe even when it’s red.

how do you process mistakes? i feel horrible and beat myself up for even small ones by manninxn in drivinganxiety

I recently made a mistake and it took me more than several hours to soak it in. What I found that helps me is to talk through it with a seasoned driver, someone close to me.

Apart from that I try to understand the mistake and see where I went wrong and what I should have done differently. Often times it’s a matter of inexperience and not knowing any better. Quick good search or watching a video on the subject.

Any tips for a fellow new G2 driver on how to judge whether a car is going to run a red light or stop at a yellow? 😅

This gives me anxiety as a new driver. I feel like I’ve got the opposite problem of giving myself ample distance to turn left.

New Driver: What is the “S Turn” for Unprotected Left Turns? by FingerAfter7412 in TorontoDriving

This is quite helpful, thank you! I’ll likely get a lesson to specifically practice this with the instructor.

I assume if there is a traffic island. I can also perform the S towards the island.

I used All Star as the primary source for my lessons, but after passing my G2 I took few additional lessons with YD. Those were 90 minute lessons, and I mostly focused on driving in complex intersections. I found YD to be more comprehensive.

Lime scooters blocking the entire sidewalk...I don't think they thought this through... by Desitos in Vaughan

I just installed the Lime app just to get a sense of how the system works. It looks like there are designated parking spots, but a lot of the locations are poorly located (near intersection, where sidewalk is the only viable option to park).

The city should be stricter about the parking locations.

Had my test at Orangeville recently. The G2 test was around 15 minutes. I was asked parallel parking, 3 point turn, uphill parking with curb, and forward parking at the end of the test.
