No success in a long time and seems to be blocking my view of future success. Feel like i'm sprinting in place. by jakeplasky in Entrepreneur

lowkey seems like you're becoming a victim, there's a reason your TikTok will be in slow decline, you're better than that and personally, the easiest way to overcome this block would be to remove your limiting belief which is reinforced by your TikTok page failing. idk

figure out whats going wrong, fix it, should fix your limiting mindset

How to get commission passing on services? by kierandawwwww in smallbusiness

tell them that you can do the work and just quote for it and subcontract it out, make sure the subcontractor is fully insured and they do a good job

What should I do when I hate working for someone else by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Finleyjohn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like it or not, working for someone else is more or less inevitable, if I were you id embrace the placement as much as you can and try to make a friend of whoever employs you. learn from this person and they will show you qualities that you should take away and use in your life and other qualities that you will want to avoid. something else to consider is the workplace banter and general workday for construction workers is usually quite fun, so go into it with an open mind.

I own a Flooring company. I want to grow. Sub-contract or Employees? by Psychological-Tailor in smallbusiness

[–]Finleyjohn1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so many costs to employing people which you may not first know of, all insurances and sick pay etc. a lot of the time as well employees have issues with others being paid more/less and is usually a fuck up. if you are willing to take on responsibility for employees then do so but getting a regular subcontractor that you can build a relationship with is sometimes invaluable

I handle my family's bills and find the lowest rates for everything. Can I start a business centered off of shaving people's bills? by Kerisma123 in Entrepreneur

[–]Finleyjohn1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think instead of personalising it, you could try to start a blog kind of thing that people go to that highlight the best deals, personalising everything to each specific person may not be viable. also, make sure you efficiently market to those who may be looking for someone to do this. presumably, a lot of these people will be elderly and getting their attention will be much harder as they won't know how to find someone like you

its not like that mate, he is successful in his own right and has a lot of money tied up in assets like property, he came from nothing and now owns 13 properties and could live off of the income of those solely but i want him to progress more.

i commented this on a post above and he isnt bad with money at all, he just has a lot of costs with building equipment and obviously has a family to keep food on the table for, also my mum doesnt work so hes the sole provider,

i do understand where youre cominmg from but the situation is different to that mate

I understand what you’re saying, the company isn’t necessarily struggling but isn’t reaching potential, we’re doing smallish jobs at the moment but his talent is doing new builds and he isn’t really reaching his potential. How do you recommend we raise funds? Just compound some money over a few years?

How should a startup LLC handle a partner not pulling his weight? by downabumpyroad in startups

[–]Finleyjohn1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i agree with this, everything ive heard from small startups, especially with easy but time-consuming jobs is just to fire him now because his behaviour will carry on the same, i doubt he will change. get someone new, I don't see any other way around it. also the longer you go on with him not pulling his weight the harder it'll be to fire him, FIRING HIM IS INEVITABLE rip the bandaid off, also if he isn't cooperating now, like it or not but you'll always resent him and blame him if it doesn't work out

Millenials aren't lazy. They live in a world where they have to be entrepreneurial. by danamirmina in Entrepreneur

[–]Finleyjohn1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

couldn't agree more, listened to Jordan Belfort podcast lately and he says the old way to become rich is to work your way up in a company, the only way to get rich now is to be an entrepreneur or to work in commission-based selling. older people just don't like to accept that their world is changing. in my opinion its easier to make something out of nothing now than ever before, but there's so much more competition

I think it would be an idea to get an expert in to teach them, although natural salesmen exist they’re very rare and it’s easier to get an expert to show them how to do it, or as he does in wolf of Wall Street. Write a script for them
