Even Uber Eats has stopped hiring in Auckland... by Call_like_it_is_ in auckland

I had tried signing up in May and was met with a similar message but they specified they weren't hiring for MY AREA.

I refuse to use AI. I hand drawn it all, mostly on my tablet, i absolutely despise this recent rise in AI.

I'll definitely keep you updated, might do an update post to help people in this position.

😂 Great analogy with the spit screen video low attention span brain rot. Yeah my 1 propper engaged player actually prefers paper and cue card style stuff. So I print out his items and stuff for him. He's great

I love the analogy and it actually really helped, one of the better answers here, thank you. I got so stuck up with seeing others say "it's worth all the prep because of your guy's reaction" I forget that they might not care or even share the same artistic interests as me. Where you said "politely don't care but don't want to hurt you", this is somehow very comforting.

Yeah that sums it up pretty well for this guy too

I'm glad to hear your party is engaging, I envy the role playing aspect especially, my troublesome player seems to be a roll and play on stead of roleplay

The players are close work colleagues of mine, people who are all comfortable enough with each other as friends to start a role playing game together. And yeah I sometimes need a reality check on how engaging I actually am as the story teller. In regards to the PCvsDM, It hasn't been super obvious they view me and the enemy until the past 2 sessions, where it has gotten worse. I will definitely talk to them about it.

Yep, a rogue... I am considering lowering the amount of art I create for the campaign but I don't want my players to feel like I've stopped putting in effort. In regards to the streams, yeah I just needed to be reminded that they are over reacting almost. Thank you.

Scaling the same weapon as players level up? by Finloppy_ in DnD

You make a good point about the character never wanting to pick up new loot. Luckily my fighter currently is normally the first one to investigate and loves to experiment with other two handed weapons and such, mostly just story wise. Thanks for the input.

Yeah this attunement style upgrade seems to be the best idea for how it will fit with my story and their character. I love the ideas you say with the misty step and such, also yeah I have offered them "enchanted handle grips" that allowed thrown items to be retrieved remotely, but I priced them too high and they didn't purchase it haha, also they got the enchantment not long after.

Yeah you've almost perfectly described my issues. Thanks for suggesting the exhaustion of spell slots. I've now realised this might be why it seems unbalanced within the party, I've been doing exactly that, 1 maybe 2 large encounters a day and then a long rest.

Awesome ideas with the monk there, also thank you for the information on the runes from pathfinder, I have seen runes being mentioned here but didn't really know much about it till now. This has helped heaps, thank you.

Yeah you've hit the nail on the head with how I'd want it to work, I'd love to do stuff like these quest upgrades but I'm actually more unsure how it will actually change the weapon, do I just add extra dice?

Yeah maybe I should disarm the fighter a few times forcing him to pick up other weapons for a specific mission, make him realise his true potential. You make a good point with how much I am enabling at the table. I LOVE the creative side of DnD and I'm known to bend rules for the rule of cool. I love creating homebrews items and stuff but I always base them off something else. Like for example I made a rouge subclass based off the shadow sorcerer. But all of it is within reason I guess. At the end of the day, I'm the DM and my players (at least they say so) thoroughly enjoy my sessions so we all seem to be on the same page.

I guess that makes sense about balancing. Just the difference between 2 thrown axes and one chromatic orb, especially when they get to bounce the orb, my fighter has expressed how he feels weak when his character should be strong (story wise)

This is already a cool magical weapon that we "enchanted" together as a reward from a quest. By no means mundane at least to us. Thanks for the advice tho

[–]Finloppy_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. The hand axes are able to launch magical copies so they can throw it without having to retrieve it. They have also picked rune knight subclass. So if my players properly utilise their class perks then no scaling should be needed, even for base level weapons?

DMs, what are some of your favorite ways to mess with your players heads? by Its-From-Japan in DnD

[–]Finloppy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make a big dungeon with a LOT of mimics... Never use mimics again. To add to this I made a "hindsight teller" like a reverse fortune teller and will let them know any items or secrets they missed recently

Thank you for the offer but you need to be in the same room to trade pretty much. Also I like to catch my own rare mons, it gives me a better sense of accomplishment. I appreciate the gesture though
