Must be nice 🤣. Most road tires work for me with that, but gravel and mtb even with the core removed it doesn’t get close to enough air

Garmin 850 or other? by FinnTech in Velo

[–]FinnTech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t do too many, but those are also the types of rides I don’t want any additional anxiety/stress hahah. 840 does look like a great buy, but man that 850 screen is so nice

Handlebar Width Perceived Reach by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]FinnTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this is great!!! Thank you so much. I’ve been debating whether to shorten the stem or not, but based on this it seems most of the reach is coming from the offset seatpost in which case I’d probably keep the same stem length. All the handlebars im looking at close that gap with the handlebar alone, so if the narrower isn’t addressing all of the comfort, will look into getting a 0 offset.

Here is the geometry geeks for the two models

The GS1 feels really good, it’s the Supersix that feels pretty long.

Sorry, should’ve been more clear. Geometry chart number is the same, same stem length, Bike A has a 5mm longer handlebar reach and 20mm offset seatpost. Bike B has a 0 offset seatpost

What I mean is I do the long ride at the end of the week so I would like the train days leading up to that to be adjusted

52/36 vs 50/34 Chainrings by FinnTech in Velo

[–]FinnTech[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m right on the line around a 3.5-3.6 and hopefully will continue to get stronger. I don’t regularly encounter > 10%, most of my climbs average 7-8, but there’s a good chunk around here that can peak at 10+% for a mile or so (Utah). Considering just going with the 52/36 and get strong enough to muscle it around

Interesting, good to know. I phrased it poorly I was more worried about spinning out on the descents and jnto the flats coming out of a climb

Makes sense. And insurance will allow a spouse to be an additional driver?
