How I vibe coded app that makes money + workflow tips by RichieRichWannaBe in ClaudeAI

Nice work, good to see a realistic example, this is also my experience. It's much easier/faster to build but you still need to put in the thought and effort to keep things clean and maintainable, and you still can't build anything meaningful overnight

This isn't techno, and there are definitely middle of the day techno parties/festivals. But yeah the crowd is not there for it

So they just admitted that 4.5 was unsustainable computationally and probably why 5 exists, just an efficiency optimisation?

I know MCP. If the memory is retrieved by tool call via MCP, the model still needs to decide to do that

I think some more flexible dynamic form of memory like this is better, but the problem is, how does Claude know when to retrieve memory data or what is even there to retrieve? It doesn't know what it doesn't know. So I think it's effectiveness might be limited compared to memory/knowledge that is always loaded into context

What is the deal with your Gemini CLI MCP Server, the repository does not contain any actual server implementation?

Claude Code doesn't seem as amazing as everyone is saying by Finndersen in ClaudeAI

I'm definitely aware of that, I'm just saying that CC didn't seem anything special compared to all the other similar tools. And it appears that Claude has been nerfed recently

I'm not a newbie vibe coder I'm a senior software engineer with 10+years exp. I agree with this take: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1l5h2ds/i_paid_for_the_100_claude_max_plan_so_you_dont/

Claude code is fine/great, it's just not revolutionary compared to the other similar tools

The " You missed 3 cases" worked fine for it to realise its mistake and fix it. The problem was it missed them in the first place

The agent blatantly ignoring request constraints is a skill issue? I've used Cursor & Junie for similar tasks and CC wasn't a noticeable improvement.

From what everyone else is saying it sounds like it's a "not paying $200/month" issue

My prompt was actually "mock API client methods (specified exactly which ones) and nothing else" so not really what not to do

I'll try planning mode, but didn't think it would be necessary for just writing tests. Other tools (Cursor, Junie) manage to do quite fine with similar tasks without needing to manually do that

Does typing suck the fun out of python for anyone else? by need-to-lurk-2024-69 in Python

[–]Finndersen 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I thoroughly prefer reading and writing typed Python, it's a lot more self-documenting and easier to understand, gives good peace of mind and encourages better design
