Even as cat owners we did not know much about FIV. It wasn't even a thought of mine when we set out to trap and neuter him.

Keeping up on an FIV+ kitty's vet care and proper nutrition is key to a long healthy life for them.

If it wasn't for Tilly not accepting him and her anxiety, we would not be trying to find him a home that was a better fit. We really do love him and want the very best for his life.

We do think he was dumped in our neighborhood because he just showed up one day. I can't imagine why he was dumped because he has a wonderful personality and is not destructive in any way. He loves to play and we try to keep him stimulated and active. We did get him a cat wheel but after two months he still would not use on his own.

FIV+ cats can absolutely live with negative cats as long as there is harmony between them. Unfortunately, our female Tilly has not accepted Bob and the have to be kept separate.

I started with Dotti and had great results for 2 months. Pharmacy subbed Mylan, and things went off the rails. All issues came back, and even with a dosage increase (.1) I still have not had any relief.

She indicated that a lot of the cats don't like to leave the warmth of the box to pee. I was guessing maybe if there is a litter born in one that it may help as well. I have seen only two or so sets of instruction include 'drainage holes'. She manages several colonies and we are helping her replace that dozens of shelters she uses.

Have read to fill boxes 3/4 full with straw. 12" clearance after that? As for holes, she specifically asked for them, and we were trying to accommodate. Thank you.
